During our visit to Dubbo, our son recommended Short Street, My parents, husband and I walked up from our motel on a beautiful morning. Though cold outside it was lovely inside, my father had the special- homemade baked beans with Chorizo, he said it was the best he had ever eaten, the rest of us had various combinations of eggs,... When I’m in the area I visit the café for great coffee and meals. It is located in a quiet location around old houses and close to a park. The café is very clean, roomy and has excellent staff that is very friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Very happy with the place and always go back to visit... More

Have been surprised by the mixed reviews. Loved Short Street Store. We had coffee each morning during our stay. We returned for the great coffee but stayed for the breakfast. Coffee was excellent. A lot of choice for breakfast - fresh breads, French toast, eggs. All great. Serves a little on the generous side but kids loved that. Service was... More

Driving through town, found this place on trip adviser, reviews were mixed particularly about coffee and service. Generally concur with what has been said, food was really good (we had breaky) and arrived promptly. The big breaky (18.50) was delicious as was the eggs benedict (16) and they use free range eggs. The price tag was slightly on the high... More

We haven't been here for a while and we were pleasantly surprised by the great food and service. The cafe has certainly improved since our last visit. The rustic decor is casual and relaxing, the menu is comprehensive and caters for all tastes and the service was prompt and efficient. After our very busy week with visitors it was lovely... More

Having recently moved to Dubbo to take over ownership of the Tallarook Motor Inn and soon to be Centrepoint Motel, both in Dubbo, I love to get around all the cafes and resaurants so I can recomend them to my guests, well thats my story and I'm sticking to it. Last week I attended the Short St Store and was... More

Being a local, this is one of the few places in town you can have a decent breakfast.. And this is only thing that keeps Short St cafe alive. The menu is interesting and the food usually matches its description. But the management at Short St have a fetish for young, inexperienced staff, who lack interpersonal skills and don't understand... More

We enjoyed our breakfast, although a limited menu , only cooked available, only fresh item available was orange juice , no fresh fruit, yogurt or muesli on the menu. Excellent coffee and a very friendly atmosphere.

Very friendly service - "Hi guys"; "Hey guys, is everything OK?". I had the pancakes with berries for breakfast, but it was disappointing. Looked great, but was rather dry. With twice the amount of syrup and a bit more fruit, it would have been delicious. Not cheap either. My husband had the homemade baked beans, which he said were rather... More
