A well laid out history of the Victorian gold era. Something for everyone. Take the time to watch the soldiers marching and the town crier. If you have children get them to play bowls, pan for gold and go to the school. The tea rooms have an interesting history. Get someone in costume to tell you about it. Expect to... More

The entry into this park is about the same cost as a QLD theme park - no rides and nothing included once you are through the gates. Where sensible shoes, very interesting and great fun, but cafe and gift shops aimed at making you poor not rich!

We had Lunch at the United States Hotel - very small meal for the price that we paid. We were extremely disappointed that we did not find the Sovereign Hill Cafe until later in the day. We could have had more of a meal for a better value price.

Dried out some leather. They called it lamb alternated with chicken breast also dry. Lamb so bad we returned it and they bought a rereplacement of a second chicken breast - only slightly better served with 2 carrots 3 beans and 2 large potatoes all smothered in something they called gravy. Better food in a hospital!, Exhorbitant price. The wine... More

$20 for a couple of waters and a cup of tea is too expensive for a family. Take your own lunch to this attraction.

Dinner before the sound and light show was delicious. Alternate roast pork and chicken. Desert was buffet selection. One glass of wine included with meal. Another glass was $8.50 per glass - very expensive and they ran out of white wine! Lovely way to start the sound and light show.

We had most of our meals at Sovereign Hill mainly for convenience and it was quite hot 35 degrees. We had a great choice from hot meals, on the go meals like sandwiches or pies and then fresh fruit salad or ice creams as well as cold drinks or tea or coffee.

Sovereign Hill offers a unique insight to the lives of the Pioneer settlers who were hoping to strike it rich in the Gold Fields of Western Victoria. The night-time sound and light show is second to none. A must see destination for those visiting Ballarat
