We had a good meal here, the staff were lovely and food was great, would go back again, remember to book as they tend to get full on the weekends

I have been many times and I'm never disappointed. Fabulous food and great service. The staff are well presented and well trained. They also have a great sections of wines.

Have been to Tonic many times, and always have a fabulous time. The food is always perfect, service impeccable and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend to both locals and those visiting Whangarei.

We chose Tonic to celebrate the last night of a terrific family holiday and didn't disappoint. Delicious, honest food without any 'foam' or 'freeze dried' frivolities that my parents aren't fond of. I shared a haloumi salad to start and had the steak for my main which was melt in the mouth. Others had the mushroom risotto, duck confit and... More

I was last here some 8 years ago and seemingly only the kitchen layout has changed. The menu was good but fresh snapper had to win and the potato purée was subservient. The garlic and butter mushrooms were good burnout exceptional. Main Divide Pinot noir is the sort of wine this sort of place should have and at $48 is... More

The food turned out delicious but the waitress we had was a different story... She was very rude and acted as if we were wasting her precious time when we told her we wouldn't be requiring entrees. I also found the venue to be a bit too crowded and roudy (couldn't have a conversation) for my liking.

We heard only good things about Tonic so we decided to give it a try. Ended up totally enjoying the whole experience. Food, wine & service all fantastic. My steak was divine and the dessert was to die for! Will definitely be going back. A good place for a night out with your partner. And to take friends or older... More

This was our 5th visit this year to Tonic. As ever they delivered with simply wonderful meals, great hospiatlity, and an excellent wine list to match. Whilst it's noisy due to the small size of the venue, that only adds to the excitement of the night. You know you're in a well liked place!

This is a gorgeous intimate restaurant, the meals are to die for, cooked to perfection. If you want to visit Tonic pre book so you're not disappointed, we arrived at 630 on a Saturday night and the restaurant was already full. Great meals, great wine list, excellent service. Prefect place for a "date night" probably not the place for a... More
