Service is always excellent, may i say so myself. Great atmosphere for families or special occasions. Desserts are always well balanced, not to mention the creme brulee is to die for!

Went on a Monday night with 2 colleagues whilst we were in town for business. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. The food was a good selection and showcased local produce. I had the venison with pistachio and pear and I really enjoyed it. Wine list also showcases local region

We enjoyed a good lunch at Fords on our drive from Picton to Golden Bay. Excellent fish and chips. Well worth the detour into the town of Nelson. Plus, we got to see the beautiful hanging flower baskets adorning the main street of town!
Following a Lonely Planet recommendation our group of four headed to Ford's for lunch and we weren't disappointed. Great, friendly service, coupled with delicious and well presented food made for a lovely lunch.
Went for breakfast and was not disappointed i had fords breakfast with home made hash-browns and they were really tasty not like sone so called homemade ones, Overall i was very impressed and would go again when in nelson, I would recommend fords to anyone wishing good food and pleasant staff. definitely worth more than excellent.

Great meal out with family. Three of us had the lamb . It was just right - I like it rare. Good to see noticable difference between rare and medium rare. Some chefs just cant get it. Grilled prawn & chorizo linguini for my brother was also excellent judging by enthusiastic plate cleaning when finished.
