Good atmosphere and very reasonably priced food and drink. The menu is fairly standard, but comprehensive, and all the dishes are well cooked
Visited this restaurant many times over the years I have been coming out to Quinta Do Lago in the Algarve. The restaurant is very much geared towards locals, the decor looks like it hasn't changed in a good 10 years, but it all adds to it. Eduardo the owner is a great guy, very friendly and the service is always... More
One of the best restaurants we had during our one month trip in Spain & Algarve. The restaurant was a tip of a local we met at the supermarket. The food was great in quality & the place was packed with locals. Service was amazing, especially waitress Vanessa.
Went here twice, first for lunch which was great. Then the kids demanded it again for dinner a couple of days later. Food good both times but the place was packed with English tourists the second time and the waiting staff got overwhelmed. So the kids had lost interest by the time the food arrived. The good side was I... More
We were staying in Sao Bras and traveled to this restraunt as we used to go there 10 years ago and the place was always buzzing. We would eat in and also use the take away. On entering the restaurant we found that they had tried to 'posh' it up, not how it used to be with rows of tables.... More
We stayed at a friend's Quinto do Mar villa along the coast. When we got bored with walking on the beach, and frequenting the overpriced tourist restaurants by the ocean (most serving mediocre food), we would walk to Almancil and back, about an hour each way. We were truly desperate to find a good, everyday local restaurant... Almancil is not... More
There is one thing that makes my blood boil when I visit a restaurant --and that is when "locals" come in after you and get served first. The waiter , when he eventually came , spoke perfect English as we made complete idiots of ourselves trying to speak Portuguese. We ordered and waited--and waited--and waited. Two men who came in... Not a lot to say really which is a shame. Good location serving in the main Chicken. What we call a six out of Ten restaurant. A bit more thought needed and food quality could be improved.
This is one of our regular restaurants in Algarve. The cured ham, the Bulhao Pato (clams in garlic) and the chicken piri-piri is our standing order. If you are in for it, ask for the special piri-piri sauce.
