The atmosphere was great--a lot of fun people around and good drinks. The food was unfortunately just ok. The portion was a little small for the price, although it was very good. I ordered the scallops and left hungry. One thing I will say is that they had a good set up for whether you were with just one other... More

Was scouting for a place for some apps and drinks and discovered that Smith Commons was not only accommodating and seated us quickly on a Saturday night, but has a lovely rooftop deck as well! Although we only had the chicken and green bean small plates both were delish. Drinks were served quickly and we had a nice outdoor snack... More

I visited Smith Commons last week with friends and had one of the worst experiences I've had in the city. I generally love Smith Commons and think it's a welcome addition to H. Street corridor. While their service has been slow in the past, I've never known it to be unprofessional or rude --as it was last week when I... More

Smith Commons looks good but nothing is going on inside. The food is bland and uninteresting. I find this restaurant to be inconsistent going from decent to poor on appetizers and entrees depending on when you visit. The wait staff is mediocre, and no one seems happy. The host and hostesses are usually beautiful people so that's a nice welcome... More

The restaurant week menu had our mouths watering. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the description. While the service was good and the flavors adequate, the chicken was over cooked and the hanger steak was cold. The green bean side dish was the highlight of my meal.

This relative newcomer to the burgeoning H Street corridor has a sheen of opulence but failed to deliver on brunch during our visit. Service was slow, one of our orders arrived wrong, then when it all got redelivered much later some of it was cold. It was a bad enough experience that we mentioned it to the manager, who made... Right on the main drag and easy to get to. Take a cab .. the area is up and coming ... but not quite there yet. Waitstaff refreshing and fun. Food right at the top. /Wine list a little lacking but we had four bottles! Outside section but that was closed in Jan. Obama ate here so that says something.

After our research of offerings in the changing but still unattractive NE H Street corridor, we choose dinner here before attending a performance at the nearby Atlas Theatre - their website lists all close-to restaurants. The menu choices were interesting, and the food quite innovative and their quality and preparation were outstanding. The service was attentive. There is one downside,... More

We arrived to see a sign outside that happy hour was on...hurray! In leading us to our table, the receptionist told us the happy hour deals could only be had at the bar, not the table (~6 feet away, no wall of separation). We asked if we could stay at the bar and dine. We were told no, that we... More

A client recommended this to go to and I have to say it was worth every penny. Went on a Sunday night and it was pretty empty. The food thought was spectacular. The goats cheese and beet salad was amazing and the steak I had was incredibly well done. Overall I was highly impressed with the restaurant and even more... More
