This is the closest I've been to feeling like I am in a good British pub since being in USA. Decked with wooden floors, tables and walls. Atmosphere was buzzing and food and drinks were great. And if you can believe all they say, it's stacked with history. Loved it.

The salmon was delicious! Great ambiance. Friendly service. We sat at the bar and met very interesting locals with similar tastes. We walked here from the National Mall (30 minutes) in hot weather, but it was worth it.

Had a delicious dinner and reasonably priced on the patio. Dress in the restaurant was formal probably due to university graduation celebrations but people on the patio was casual. Service was excellent.

The tavern was cozy and the food was good. It is located in gorgeous historical Georgetown, and it's worth the visit just to see where JFK proposed to Jacqueline.

We stopped in, casually dressed, after helping our daughter move. Restaurant was a little pretentious, service barely adequate, but food was delicious. Guess I just prefer a little warmth...

Ate there on a recent trip in April. The place was dripping with History and the food mouthwatering delicious! Everything from the appetizers to the desert was very tasty. Had read about it in the Lonely Planet travel guide and it did not disappoint. Many famous politicians and presidents had eaten there - Truman, Nixon, an the JFK and Jackie... More

We wanted to eat here because of the history, but we were pleasantly surprised with the good food as well. Being from Boston, we were attracted to seeing the "JFK proposal booth" and reserved the booth in advance. This was a great treat for us. The restaurant is small and charming. Lots of old wood work, neat decor, lighting, and... More

An intimate old neighborhood hangout since, I think, the 1920s. Nicely seedy wooden booths, good burgers, excellent barman. You get the feel of WW 2 Georgetown, when it became a white not black enclave of defense workers crowded into shared row houses.

I really liked this place. Great ‘buzz’ when we were there on a Friday night, with lots of people coming and going during the evening. Menu is quite extensive, with plenty of choice. Food was good quality. Service also friendly and good. Will definitely return here when I am next in DC.

Old fashioned tavern full filled with American history. We were sitted in Nixon's booth next to Kennedy's proposal booth where people traditionally making proposal for a half of century. Atmosphere was great! Decor and service were fantastic. And food was really nice. Great burgers, nice colonial times recipe soup, seafood and perfect price. All in one. Unbeatable attitude. And terrific... More
