Chikara, the sushi 'chef' at Sugata, always has something special to recommend; he is especially great with his recommendations, once, he gets to know your tastes for fish. The food at Sugata has a very, very authentic flavor; it very much, reminds me of food, prepared by my relatives; it's almost if they had the same recipes and preparation style.
Having placed our order and waited 40 minutes we asked after our food. After waiting twenty more minutes we complained and we left. With so few tables it's hard to understand how a table for two could be overlooked for so long.
We've gone to Sugata for about 20 years now. As others have mentioned, the sushi is excellent, but our family's favorites are the tempura udon and teriyaki beef/chicken donburi. Best sushi in Albany! Try the japanese peppers stuffed with seared tuna. Nyom nom nom.
This is one of our favorite local sushi restaurants and have celebrated a couple of birthdays here. The sushi is always fresh!
