The Plaza Grill, Moonstone Grill and Abruzzi all have the same owner. While I like the first two, this restaurant has terrible food, and it also appears and smells DIRTY. We have tried it a handful of times over the past seven years and we were disappointed in the food every time. Uncooked lasagna noodles, lack of flavors, old or... More

Don't waste your time. Our waitress (young brunette girl) was lovely and accommodating (seemed like she knew everything was awful and felt bad), but other times we have come here we have received neglectful, lazy service from college kids who are just trying to make a buck off you. The noodles (and yes i call them noodles because they tasted... More

Can you give negative stars? That would be great. Don't go, just never ever go! Lets start with the service. The servers don't want to be there. They make it very obvious. The food is confusing. Why call it a ceasar when its really just mayo sploppled onto lettuce? What was on that antipasto platter? Why is the cheese so... More

I like to to bring a friend here for a "mini-occasion", as it has an interesting stone-and-wood-with-sparkley-lights romantic basement atmosphere,I can either get dressed up or not, the wine list is good, and I have several favorite dishes. Their scallops on a bed of spinach and mushrooms is worth a return trip. Middle price range, matched to the somewhat-but-not-extremely upscale... More

On a tip from our fishing guide, we made a reservation from the river and headed toward Arcata to Abruzzi. Its located in the basement of a building in the town square- a happening place on a Friday night in a college town. We enjoyed our dinner and enjoyed getting there. You can tell there is pride ownership and they... More

Abruzzi's has been our favorite place to go for a number of years. However our last 3 times out have been quite disappointing. The service has been less than engaging, the portions quite small, and we spent last night suffering from indigestion. We have spent many romantic evenings there, but I think last night will be our last.

We took our daughter and her two friends here for dinner and so they handled a "walk in party of 6" quite well. The food was quite good, my cod was slightly overcooked, but the other parties' food was good. THe pasta was well done and the sauces nice. Portions were generous. However, perhaps when we're treating college students we... More

We came here because the place upstairs was busy. Nice atmosphere. Service was acceptable to slow. Prices were high. My chowder was horribly over-salted (and i like things salty). The scallops were unremarkable. My companions said they enjoyed their meal although one was only half-eaten. I wouldn't come back unless I had to. Most of the entrees were $20-30.

As soon as you walk into this place you know its old and your in for something different, situated at the basement of one of the oldest buildings in town, Abruzzi does not stand up to its reputation. had the worst combination of ingredients over priced wine, and a weird atmosphere that can only be explained by the snobby and... Nice setting, very good home made pastas (especially the fettuccine), great service. The truffle mac n cheese were also good. Not high gourmet, but a very good American-Italian. A nice surprise after the average reviews we read on TA.
