This is our favorite place to come for lunch. The patio and the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Mexico just adds to its charm. Very good food and service. Have been coming for years every time we visit the Sarasota area. Highly recommend.

My husband and I went there for dinner when we first arrived on AMI. I had the Grouper sandwich and my husband had the crab salad. I made the mistake of ordering a bloody ceasar for a cocktail and it had to be the worst drink I ever consumed. Tasted like watered down tomato juice. A real disappointment. The meal... More

My wife and I had an early dinner at the Sandbar yesterday, sat on the deck. The location is fantastic, overlooking the beach, but I'm afraid both meals were very average. I had grouper which was ok, the fries were luke warm and didn't look fresh. My wife's meal was the same, just ok. Better places to eat on the... More

My husband and I ate at The Sandbar three times on our last visit to Anna Maria, including Mother's Day brunch. Owner Ed Chiles and his chefs continue to add new and creative dishes to their menu while keeping the beach fare that so many people expect. It's always fun to see the specials of the day. Wait staff is... More

Absolutedly loved this restaurant! It was so nice to sit on the beach and have an early supper. Our tables was in the sand. Nice to put your feet in the sand while dining. The view is amazing. The restaurant is right at the edge of the sand. The seafood was excellent. I had the fried seafood combo and the... More

The Sandbar is really a great place to grab a drink, enjoy a nice meal and watch the sunset! Our first server, Mary Beth, was extremely rude and had no interest in making us feel welcome. So, we kindly asked the manager for a new waiter. He sent someone to our table immediately! Mark, our 2nd server, was outstanding! He... More

The view is excellent, and the meals were I'd say good but this place is mostly for the view. Service was very good, parking can be a challenge if you are not there in time. (And the valet parking just has to go...that is a waste and seeing these guys drive I'd never let them in my car). But, again... More

Driving around the west coast of Florida while vacationing we came upon the Sandbar on Anna Marie Island. This is a good place to visit if your looking for outdoor dining with a nice view. We decided to stop in for a little lunch and enjoy the view. We were seated outside - almost right on the beach. It was... More

The Sandbar has gone down over recent years. The quality of the food is very average and the place has been enlarged and lost its atmosphere. If you want better food visit Mar Vista just over the bridge towards longboat key.You may even see the peacocks on the way to the restaurant !!! both these places are owned by Ed... More
