Came here really late at night just after getting into town. Very accommodating and food was good. Great beer and local atmosphere. Can be crowded during regular hours.
Every time we visit St. George, we always have to eat at Owl Cafe. The service is friendly and efficient, and the food is excellent. In a town where every restaurant has oysters, my husband says theirs is the best. Plus there is a great little kitchen store downstairs. Always a treat!
Lunch menu has some great choices. Not your typical little of everything. Instead some thoughtful appetizer choices plus salads sandwiches and entrees Menu items prepared quickly and presented well. Crab cakes were delicious accompanied by a very nice dipping sauce. Fried oyster salad and cheeseburgers were both devoured. No room for dessert :-) Place looks new but has been around... More
Recommended by a local shop my friend and I decided to have dinner there. We looked outside on the menu and we both found something we could eat. Once inside I couldn't find on the menu what was outside on the menu, the waitress was sort of snappy and said that what I wanted to order did not exist and... More
We visited with 7 for a late dinner. Food was quite simple, nothing we couldn' have prepared ourselves easily. Service at the table was mediocre. in contraxst, the person who planned our table was exceptionally kind and helpful. The restaurant was noisy and having some sort of conversation was therefore impossible.
Over the years we have eaten here with friends 6 or 7 times and were so excited to be back in the area to dine there, again. Don't know what was going on, but never had this experience before. Actually called and made reservations for Sunday brunch for 12:15. Arrived on time, were greeted immediately, pleasantly and told it would... More
Dinner was just okay. We ate at the Owl last year and had one of the best dinners we ha on the "forgotten coast". This year - just okay - not bad, not great. We had the blue crab dip appetizer - too much spice overwhelmed the crab. Fried oysters were heavy with oil. Just the wrong season - Owl's... More
Better than expected meal in Appalach, decent service, about as we expected. Seafood was limited which was surprising.
We've eaten here during every trip to St. George over the years and have always been pleased....until this trip. We arrived and stood at the desk for nearly 10 minutes waiting for the hostess. When she finally arrived, she hurriedly asked if there'd be 2 for dinner and seated us without so much as a word. Hard to understand since... More
