The atmosphere and the restaurant seem nice and friendly with style. The food is a little over average though (I had the duck starter which is the nicest dish in my lunch course, the fish filet and duck leg my partner and I had is too tasteless and salty, consequently even when the decoration is wonderful and eye catchy). But,... More

Not much to add to all the reviews published here already. The food is fusion, French and Vietnamese. I ate there a number of times when two of my sons were working in Hanoi. It is "pricey", but only by Hanoi standards: you very much get what you pay for here. The menu is inventive and always pleasing. Should be... More

As one of the top 10 restaurants in Hanoi, we expected La Badiane to be good. What we didn't expect was to be totally blown away! This is a French restaurant with an interesting Vietnamese flavour to it. We are a family of 3 adults and tried each others meals. All of our meals were to die for and the... More

The food was great as what one would expect given that it is french cuisine. We really enjoyed the food served, however I feel that it is slightly overpriced (in my own opinion). Overall, we enjoyed it. Worth a try if you are unable to get such food in your own country. :)

one of those rare (yes, pun) moments when everything mixes perfectly... appetizer, steak tartare, wine, friends. Extraordinary.

For a little escape from the bustle of Hanoi, La Badiane is a gorgeous retreat with great food. A sophisticated menu with beautiful presentation, every dish is a delight. Don't believe the pricing on trip advisor though. A main meal will set you back $23, the three course meal is $43 and the degustation will be $66. For a special... More

We had the 3 course dinner menu which started with a fantastic entree - my wife thought the carpaccio was the best she ever had. Unfortunately it went downhill from there - a less than average main meal followed by an ok desert - all in a room that was stifling hot and service that lacked attention, forgot requests and... We thoroughly enjoyed the food at La Badiane. The food was delicious but the staff spoke little English. I had the 6 course degustation menu which was US$66. Expensive for Vietnam but I think worth it. The degustation menu consisted of (1) an amuse-bouche (prawn bisque, avocado bruschetta and wasabi grilled prawn). (2) entree of smoked salmon, eggplant crumble in... More

We were surprised to discover such a delightful French restaurant in the middle of Hanoi that offers the kind of serious cooking one would be happy to find in Paris or New York. An inspired menu. Serious but unpretentious service. A sophisticated and inviting setting. Big hit of the evening was the beet and pesto filled nem that accompanied the... More

Our last night in Hanoi and we wanted to do something special! Having read reviews on TA we chose La Badiane. We booked a table in the outside courtyard and the ambience was fantastic. The food was truly amazing and the Chef came out several times to check that everything was in order. The froie gras was perfectly cooked for... More
