Loved the set menu for 1, was enough food for two. Everything tasted great but I would stick to the Vietnam staples of spring rolls, pho and rice. Great atmosphere.

I have just dinned at this highly recommended restaurant and must have missed something I thought the food was below expectations and sitting close to the kitchen I thought the microwave was being given a far work out and I thought good Vietnamese food was cooked fresh not left sitting around and reheated. Enough said.
Went with high expectations after reading TA. We were not disappointed with this bustling street food feel cafe! Went as couple and ordered green papaya salad, spring rolls, bun cha and Hanoi curried chicken. Way too much for 2 people!! Each dish was beautiful! The bun cha so tasty and the rolls really flavourful. With 2 drinks each (the best...

Ate here a few times whilst in Hanoi and every time the meal was great. Staff are polite and friendly, the service is rapid and the place is huge, almost always guaranteeing you a table. The Bun Cha was particularly good, would highly recommend.
Loved this little place. Great food at a cheap price....staff are efficient and friendly and if you are not sure what you are ordering, they will take you to the kitchen so you can see the dish that matches the menu item....
Hubby and I decided on Newday after a few bia hoi's.! It was great! Spicy squid, chicken curry, water spinach with garlic and their version of a mapo. This all was very good the chicken curry was probably the stand out :) throw in 2 cold big beers all those plus rice came to the staggering amount of 12 AUD!!!!...

We came here the first time when we arrived at Hanoi on a late Sunday evening. it was recommended to us by the hotel and took us about 20 minutes by foot mainly because we spent most of the time trying to cross the busy roads. We love Vietnamese foods and this lived up to all expectations.both in terms of...

We had lunch here after 3 hours walking around the old quarter. It was so busy thus we came in at 3pm. Food arrived quickly as they seemed to serve street food style: simple and delicious. The service was quite messy but very friendly at times. Recommend to all my friends.
It's always very busy at Newday. Not only because Lonely Planet-readers go there, but also local people. We ate twice at New Day. The food was cheap and very good. Nothing fancy, just steady cooking and better than the street restaurants. Within 45 minutes you're finished and you can have a drink in one of the nice bars in the...

We ate 3 times while in Hanoi, always full of people but very fast service. Fresh spring rolls are delicious, we also ordered 3 main courses and a mango plate as desert. This is a restaurant that locals go and have their meals. Prices are very affordable.
