The food was excellent value with huge portions and all tasted great. The street is a lively backpacker area with lots of bars and restaurants and this is one of the best on the street. The beef wellington is huge and delicious and the staff are friendly and attentive

The name of this very average restaurant is very apt. The staff spent most of the time chatting amongst themselves and gave us very little attention, eventually I had to get out of my seat and walk to the bar to get any service. Had read good things about the beef wellington on tripadvisor, it was poor, in fact it... More

We came here for dinner after reading the rave reviews on Tripadvisor. Perhaps it was a mistake to try on a Friday eve. However a table became available only a few minutes after we turned up but then we waited, and we waited and after no service at all after 20 minutes we gave up. The place was busy but... More

I dropped in here for lunch after reading up on the Trip Advisor reviews and it was great. Everything just right with the meal, a very nice wine and a perfect waitress with a smle that would stop traffic even in Phnom Penh. So good I couldn't think of anywhere better for dinner as well. That's when i found the... More

Being located in the middle of Phnom Penh's backpacker street I guess we shouldn't have expected too much yet the TA reviews were promising. The food we had at Chat and Chew really was nothing at all special and we were expecting much more, its basically typical backpacker fare in a backpacker quality surrounding. All our food, the rice and... More

I spotted the comments here about the beef wellington and thought I would give it a try. The cafe is in a single shop house unit and is nicely laid out with plenty of space between the tables. Being on my own I arrived for an early dinner at just after 7 and there were plenty of tables available (the... More

Went to this comfortable little restaurant after reading the reviews on trip advisor and was not disappointed. The service was pleasant, the restaurant cosy and the food very tasty. I had the gasi noreng which was really tasted and came with delicious chicken skewers and prawn crackers. My boyfriend had the Khmer curry which was loaded with flavour. We both... More

The chat n chew became one of our favourite hang outs during our stay in PP. The food here is amazing and ridiculously good value. Enjoyed everything we ate but especially the chicken breast stuffed with spinach, cheese, ham, served with your choice of potatoes done every way, veggies and your choice of about 5 sauces... but get the kampot... Cant fault this place whilst not overly amazing, food is nice and service good. Price of food is on par with other places in the vicinity. For somewhere safe, this is one of those.spots

Just back after having dinner here. Stumbled across it by accident, but it looked good and there were quite a few diners already there, unlike a lot nearby. DH had the wok fried chicken with kampot pepper and veg while I went for the Khmer curry. Two glasses of wine (good quality) and the total bill came to $12, with... More
