My husband and I discovered Acik Mutfak because we were staying around the corner and we noticed the food when we walked by. We were not disappointed! The menu is slightly different every day and once an option is sold out, it's gone. This was definitely the first sign of the freshness of the food. The waitress was very sweet... More

This place is tiny! But the atmosphere was welcoming, the food tasty, and the service friendly. We enjoyed the meze plate (delicious!) and my three dining partners enjoyed their meals. I was a bit disappointed by my vegetarian option in that it was all chilled and quite small. It was still very tasty, just not satisfying. I would visit again.

When you're a tourist, all you look out for is local tastes, good quality food and a tad different atmosphere, and somewhat reasonable prices. Open Kitchen may offer you all, the pro's are good food, local tastes and cosy atmosphere. But alas, it's not the best, the cheapest and the greatest at all! Last night all we get was an... More

I went there yesterday, it is an OK atmosphere, but not Turkish at all...The food is nothing special, you can find the recipes online and cook them for yourself. The service was super slow, they even forgot the main dish and were not capable of understanding basic orders in Turkish and but were keen on still getting the full tip!... More

Not sure if the food was entirely Turkish or not but everything (veg and non veg) tasted delicious. Since we were a group we ordered a serving of everything on the menu and not once dish failed us. The menu however changes everyday and is just written on a board by the chef daily. The dessert which I think was... More

Lovely freshly prepared food in the "Open Kitchen" which it name translates to. The mixed meze platter is a great starter. The wine seems expensive but is actually very good. We had the red. Quirky intimate interior. No sign we could see but a red 6b marks it's address above the door plus you'll see the kitchen in the front.

We stumbled upon this incredible restaurant on a Friday night and were immediately greeted by Chef Isra with warm hospitality and wine while we waited for a table to free up. Mouth watering food, cozy intimate atmosphere with authentic charm, as though you were eating in a friend's kitchen! No wonder the translation of Acik Mutfat is 'open kitchen'. We'd... More

We just had dinner at Acik Mutfak and loved it. If you're looking for excellent local food, look no further. We started with zucchini fritters that came with a yogurt+dill sauce, then my wife had Turkish meatballs+orzo+vegetables and I had chicken+potatoes+orzo. Everything was stellar, perfectly cooked with good sauces, and the prices are very reasonable. There are only 6 or... More

There's lots of good food in Istanbul--delicious, solid, filling, precious, traditional--whatever you want--it exists. But it is a rare meal that makes you stop, savor, pause, and focus entirely on the plate and the place, and Acik Mutfak is definitely one of them. And with the cheery but sensible service, warm decor, and open kitchen, (I wasn't sure if I... More

We walked by the Acik Mutfak by chance and had diner there. The starters were very tasty and really rich, so we had a hard time to finish the main courses. Very fresh and delicious food as well as friendly staff. The choice is limited, but then you know that everything is freshly prepared.
