Rachmo is a famous place in Jerusalem's shuk. It serves Middle Eastern food, such as hummous, vine leaves, kubeh, meatballs, rive with beans. It is all hearty and most of it is good. The hummous is mediocre, so a more wise choise is one of the soups, a mousaka or something else. The food is slightly heavy and it seems... More

One can't miss the unique smell of this dining iconic Institute by approaching the area. Basic Furniture, almost Canteen-style and Self-service to getting your dashers with fresh cocked meals. Find your fit table & than go stay in a line in front of a small serving window (ever been in Jail …!?) to ask what you want- So – while... More

then this is the place to go! it is not a restaurant, it is more a place where local people gather to eat a quick lunch (it closes very early, 7 pm maximum). food tastes like home made food and you get served local dishes (hummus is delicious, but also meat balls). definitely worth a try if you are looking... The place is a very authentic Jerusalem Mahne-Yehuda Market eatery, a place frequented by Jerusalem natives for years. The food - Humus and other Middle Eastern dishes is excellent. The place is very small and one shares tables with other patrons - not the place to go if you're looking for a gourmet place but certainly the one to eat... More

its the opposite of fancy - a worker's place, often overcrowded with locals, most simple setting - and you wouldn't want to miss it. all home-made traditional cooking, cooked on oil-stoves, stuffed vegetables, traditional kubeh soups, hummus etc. a long line getting to a window connecting the kitchen and the small dinning area, where you point out to the pots,... We found this restaurant by chance and were so glad we did. It’s on Yoel Solomon Street in downtown Jerusalem near Zion Square. For a good, typical Middle Eastern down-home cooked meal, this is the place. It is not fancy and you order at the counter, but it is wonderful. We had delicious chicken with cooked vegetables and potatoes. They... More

This is not a restaurant; it is a living breathing part of Jerusalem history. The restaurant has appeared in songs and poems about Jerusalem as well as many Israeli movies. Firstly, don't dress up or try to order a table. This is a workingman's restaurant in every sense of the word. Neither are there any waiters, so you'll line up... More

I'm have to be perfectly honest and admit that I'm only 90% sure this is the restaurant I'm reviewing, because my Hebrew reading is minimal. That said, the food was awesome. I had the stuffed zucchini, which was so good, and the fried kubbe and the fried "cigar" (filo pastry with meat.) They were amazing. Another time, I had hummus... More
