The Zamalek branch is my favorite, and it is a must when planning trips for any of my non-Egyptian friends. Very nice traditional atmosphere with decent food .. make sure to give it a try!

Foreigner might see this as wonderful place.
It serves dished with arab titltes, and those who have no idea will consider it good, specially it is a bit Luxury, and in an expensive location.
However, the food quality is not at all up to the real standards of oriental foods, and experts can tell you many other places much more...

Abou Sid started in Zamalek island but we visited one of the newly opened locations, this was in a modern shopping mall down Alexandria road. They did their best to recreate the atmosphere of traditional egypt and 1001 nights, but did not really succeed and you still feel you´re in a mall. Very good egyptian food. Very nice atmosphere and decoration. A very enjoyable evening. Very few tourists because (thanks?) to the current situation.
Food was very nice and tasty. Deffo reflects the authentic egy cousine... but in my opinion its overpriced. Atmosphere is great. I recommend it.
Food good as always, atmosphere authentic, service poor! Kept waiting for ages when there were tables free. Maitre d rude. Reasonable prices for good food quality however.
pleasant, nice decor, varied menu. we got rabbit and stuffed pigeon along with some of the standards and it was all good.

The atmosphere inside this place is great. You feel like you are in the middle east - dim lighting, smokey ambiance, low ceilings, very decorative, and the smell of shisha...

Loved the restaurant, like something out of the movie Casablanca. There is a lot of sheesha smoking, so be prepared for a thin cloud of smokiness. Food was great, surrounding even better. Order lots of small stuff and spin the table tray to share it around
I really do not like to eat typical egyptian food outside my home, but i have tried this restaurant more than once and i loved it, the portions are good, with a nice old vintage atmosphere with old music playing, and prices are a bit pricy for food, but the quality is worth the money, i loved the hot sausages,...
