We came here on the recommendation of our tour guide (private tour) but I'd also seen it here on TA and we were not disappointed at all. Yes it's true the staff do not speak English, or at the least not much English. And yes it's also true that you might feel hurried because you have a server to yourself... More

We were told that this was the best place to have Peking Duck so we splurged and ate there. Our China Odyssey guide made our reservations so we didn't have to wait and were seated right away. It was well worth it. The duck was lean and flavorful. The waitress helpfully instructed us on how to use the sauce and... More

We had wanted peking duck in Beijing and are so pleased that Da Dong was recommended to us! It was one of our favourite meals and experiences in China. We tried peking duck again before we left Beijing at Quanjude and it wasn't nearly as impressive or as tasty. The chef comes out and cuts the duck for you, placing... More

Let me start with the positive side. The duck was perfect, and if you haven't tried it before - don't worry - the waiter will help you making your little "pancakes" with all the good stuff. The meat was so tender and the even our son (12) loved it. We made reservations so when arriving, there was a table waiting... More

I didn't care for the 1 hour wait time to eat the duck, but the Peking Duck here is AMAZING! It's super lean and tasty, with the right amount of flavor. I came here alone and only ordered half a duck (which still wasn't enough!). While the wait was an hour, and people who arrived after me received their duck... More

I was really looking forward to Dadong during my visit to Beijing....overall I was disappointed in the experience. The duck was cooked to perfection and tasted great, however I was expecting a higher level of service for the price and atmosphere. The wait staff seemed like their sole job was to get you in and move you out; no interaction... More

I thoroughly enjoyed the meal I had at Dadong! We of course had the traditional Peking Duck and also a few side orders to accompany. We shared 2 ducks between 6 of us and it was more than enough! Very very tasty food and although it is a little pricier than the smaller restaurants in Beijing it's definitely worth a... More

If you're coming solo, this may not be a good idea since the signature 'SuperLean' duck (which does live up to its reputation, by the way) requires a minimum order of half a bird. Still, I managed to finish that without ordering much else. Location: Famous enough for cab drivers to know just by mentioning Dadong roast duck (in mandarin,... More

I went there with another 2 friends for early dinner and I must admit that it's provided me with a great experience! Fusion Chinese food yet authentic roast duck. Impressive oven welcomes guests at the entrance. Even though staff may not speak English but they try their very best to serve and please us.

The duck here is awesome. My favorite is the duck hearts. I thought the atmosphere could have been better but overall, my experience was good.
