This was my go-to restaurant in Santiago...& I have finally decided to write about it now!! The portions are reasonable, as is the pricing. When I say this place caters for everyone, I mean that you could take your partner/family/other tourists/expats/locals here. That just wouldn't happen in Sydney suburban restaurant. A great restaurant...

After visiting many restaurants in Santiago and heving terrible experiences, We had a delicious dinner at Baco. All the main courses were excellent, for starter we had a salmon thinly slided which was not that amazong but well disguised with olive oil and lime. The tart tatin is ok, maybe trying another dessert would have been better

The food is very good (traditional French), with a great wine list and very accommodating service, and best of all, it's open late as well as on Sunday evenings. I ate there several times, thoroughly enjoying each meal, from a pig-out on pâté de fois gras with a dozen oysters and champagne one night to cassoulet another, and beef Bourguignon... More

I have lived in Santiago for almost 5 years now and as you know the favorites do change. In 2013 this is my number 1 choice for a Saturday or Sunday lunch. The wine they serve is excellent, comes at exactly the right temperature and often is not even more expensive than in the supermarket. A good dinner with a... More

I came in this restaurant near a year ago, and i found the food ok, but not delicious. I mean, I lived several years in France and Know well the french cuisine, so that I can be objective. The dishes were in a normal standard, cokked normally, nothing really special. The place is nice though, but i hated the service:... More

We hadn't planned to bring our 2 French guests to Baco. They wanted to have Chilean food but the chosen restaurant had been reserved by a company for the night. Someone suggested Baco for the wine option, no one from our party had gone. We're glad we went. First, it's nice to have wines from outside Chile. We love Chilean... More

We stayed a couple of days in Santiago after arriving by cruise ship into Valparaiso. Our hotel suggested Baco as it was one of the few restaurants open on the Sunday evening in our locality. We arrived at the restaurant at about 7 p.m. and were directed to a lovely table just inside the open sliding windows and with great... More

Nice ambience, and great selection of wine by the glass or the bottle. Food - especially the steaks - is excellent. Easy location to find in the heart of Providencia.

Cassoulet and Beef Strogonoff (as they spell it) were beautifully done with superior ingredients. The wine-by-the-glass selection is good for a Chilean restaurant. The service was just fine and the setting is beautiful on a warm night. Perhaps a bit pricey but it certainly lived up to the good rating on TripAdvisor.
