TAbella's has closed. It was replaced by Arise Pizza. The good news is that Arise still has the amazing chick pea fries.
We had great food in this Resto. The green salad with gorgonzola, nuts and pears was great and also the "Saltimbocca alla romana" with the spinach and mashed potatoes was very tasty. You get a bottle of water for free and they have nice beers and wines. The young staff was very attentive and friendly. Even they tried to help... More

outstanding food and top drawer service. excellent wine list, hand crafted food
Tabella is called a tapas place because it offers the option of 'small plates' -- non-entree choices. But really these are quite generous portions -- I think that the chef just wants to give people the option to have more than one thing. Which is great, because the menu is overflowing with delicious, inventive, local food. On several visits recently,... More
Tabella is using the airlines as its inspiration for service. When ordering drinks, my companion ordered a glass of wine and I (the designated driver) ordered a glass of seltzer. The server informed me that Tabella doesn't serve water by the glass--customers must purchase an entire large bottle. Next I ordered soup ($7.50). When it arrived, I asked for a... More
this is the 2nd time coming to this restaurant and the last! My husband had a very wobbly chair, and notified the hostess, who proceeded to flip the chair over and examine it. She stated that 'the joints were loose" and handed him back the chair to sit on! I had to speak up, and ask her to kindly get... More
Food was ok. Came with a hefty dose of condescension and small portions that were not plated nicely. A blob of risotto in the bottom of the bowl; beets in a cup; "crostini" = pizza bagels. The food was not interesting, not that good. Amherst Chinese Food has had their own farm since the 70's and lots of NoHo restaurants... More
Who writes these glowing reviews? This is a pretentious and expensive place that sells the concept of tapas, with a locavore veneer, unrecognizable to anyone who's every been near a real Spanish restaurant.
Tabella is a real treat, hard to walk out for under $100. All local and yummy, I had a great stuffed Mushroom, and steak etc. They even offer some larger dinner sized plates, bigger than the tapas size. It is not a family friendly place-- everyone is seated very close together, NYC style- more of a date night.
