If you like wine and you like cheese - this is a must-visit (unsurprisingly!). We went twice on our recent trip to Split - we loved it so much. The service is second to none and the waiters' knowledge is unbelievable. Both the cheese and wine we were recommended on both occasions were wonderful and mostly all Croatian which made... More

Paradox is fun. But it gets a few stars from me because it in no way a restaurant, nor a cafe. It is a wine bar with limited choices of cheese and deli meats. The wines were very good, as the proprietor knows what he is doing. But that said, it should be number one on the restaurant recommendations.

Dear Gcruik, Thank you for visiting Wine & Cheese Bar Paradox and taking time to share your experience with fellow travelers. I was glad to read that you actually had a positive opinion about our establishment despite the fact that you have given us rating of "poor". Myself being a hotelier and restaurateur for over a decade would take rating... More

We six called in for a wine and cheese before our evening meal, and ended up back again for coffee (and another bottle of wine) on the way home. It was fun, with a great and knowledgeable host providing excellent service and wine advice, the setting is great for people watching despite its backstreet location, the wine and cheese were... A friendly host who was very knowledgable - we enjoyed a lovely red wine from nearby hvar with some tasty tapas. A lovely spot to enjoy local produce and watch the world go by. Worth it's ratings.

Perfect place for a light lunch or snack in the afternoon, very friendly staff and local cheese and wine... They deserve their rating on tripadvisor.

Paradox is a wine & cheese bar and a great one at that, but what they need to be recognized for as well as is their coffee. They serve Italian illy coffee and their barista makes a great cappuccino. It is a place that we frequent regularly and the quality and consistency are to be commended.

Had dinner elsewhere and then visited Paradox for a bit of dessert. It is not very easy to find on Google Maps, but totally worth the effort. We enjoyed Croatian and French cheeses, recommended by the knowledgable staff, and a few glasses of port. A bit pricey in comparison to some of the other restaurants in Split but the quality... More

Wine selection was a little bit disappointing comparing to another wine houses in Croatia, but the ambiance is great, you can have some good wines in a accessible price (not excellent value though) and great cheese with jam and honey. Overall I recommend it.

We had a lot of fun here late one evening. After having dinner elsewhere we skipped dessert as we wanted to seek out Paradox and see if it's reputation lived up to our expectations? We weren't disappointed. We sat outside and enjoyed a platter of various cheeses which were lovely and two glasses of red wine recommended as accompaniment for... More
