Great food, classy ambiance. Certainly caters to tourists but doesn't feel like a trap and stays true to Lao cooking and culture. This was our last meal of the trip: it's a bit on the fancy side, and higher price range - but of course in Southeast Asia, that still means really affordable. It was a perfect way to end... More

Cut a long story short my best food experience in all of Asia. We visited Thailand, Vietnam & Laos and this gem of a restaurant was the best on the Asia leg if our round the world trip. Order the vegetarian selection and the suggestion & you will not go wrong :) a stal at around £40 for a couples... More

Excellent food & service & ambiance. US$20 for the taste of Cambodia - 9 stunning dishes (the Western food costs more) - best meal I had in Laos

Me and my mum went here almost by accident. We walked past and felt that the place had a great atmosphere and then we recognised the name from tripadvisor. I had a steak which was AMAZING! Asked for medium rare and that's exactly what I got. The chips and vegetables that came with it were also perfect. I had a... More

Given the other reviews we were a bit disappointed. The atmosphere was strange and there were not many people in the restaurant. My husband spent the evening facing about 10 staff who watched him eat. I faced the road. Despite the number of staff it took so e time to get side plates for the bread and other small things.... Quite nice European (french) cuisine, and outstanding winelist (!). So if you crave "old europe" while in Luang, this is the place. The question - of course- is why you would want Europe when you are in Laos ....

My spouse and I attempted to dine at L'Elephant in late February 2013, but they would not even let us sit down for a few minutes to enjoy a drink because they were expecting guests over an hour later; however, the restaurant was COMPLETELY EMPTY when we were turned away, which made us feel totally unwelcome. As a result, we... More

We ate here twice. The salads are outstanding. A large portion is $4.50. You'll struggle to finish it but hey ... A challenge is good! The daily specials/ set menu are GREAT value. In any western city you would pay at least 4 to 5 times more. Excellent attentive service by the staff. Don't miss this restaurant for a real... More

Walking by the restaurant in the afternoon we were attracted by the ambience, checked the menu and decided to return for dinner. Any trip to Luang Prabang deserves a meal at this fine French restaurant. A little pricier than most but far ahead in quality and service. We dined about 6:30 PM If the restaurant becomes crowded it would be... More
