Suffice to say that when the (dead) cockroach fell from the bottle of oil onto the salad it was bad enough. But the fact the bottle was 3/4 empty & the roach had plainly been dead for some time makes me feel for those who had gone before.
Pizza base obviously bought in as evidenced by the waffled base.

Ate here twice and it wasn't for the food. As a photographer and French colonial enthuse, I just had to check it out again.
Other than that the food was reasonably priced but nothing to write home about.
Dont get the Chicken satay USD5 pathetic!
The staff didnt really show any sort of welcome and shold of stayed at home....

Yesterday I had a lasagne with chicken, spinach and bailey sauce. The combination was so strange that I had to order it. The lasagna was great. My son had the children menu and my wife had pork fillet. We all had a very nice meal.
Le Grand Cafe in Siem Reap has classy interior...an olde-world atmosphere with lovely decor. Staff could have beena bit more attentive, but taking in the elegant furnishings and staircases whilst waiting for a drink was a positive.
Food quality and price also on the positive side....but the amount of tiny black bugs floating in through the open windows was quite...

Had a few dishes for dinner, nothing special. They ran out of a few options (coconut juice?!?!) but the service was fairly decent. Good location.

I first visited this restaurant 2 years ago and I was impressed. However my visit for breakfast, yesterday, was very disappointing. This place has a beautiful setting, in an old colonial building with good views. But the food was completely forgettable and over-priced, and it was mostly empty at prime dinner time on a Thursday night, making for a weak atmosphere. Too many better options around to waste a meal here.
