I went to Lae Lae as it was highly recommended by LP and other travellers - I like to eat where the locals eat and cheap and tasty is always good. Sadly, it seems the staff at Lae Lae are exploiting their fame to milk unsuspecting tourists. As regards the food, it was a mixed bag. The fish they served... More

We had dinner here during peak hours, the servers totally ignoring us. We found ourselves a table and no one attend to us. We need to talk to the man in front what we want to order and no notes were written by then, luckly our orders are correct and we could finally eat. The food it self is so... More

I travel to Makassar often. I remember the first time I went to Makassar, people advised me to dine in this restaurant. The food was good, but after I tried some other nearby seafood restaurants, I can easily name few with better taste, service and atmosphere. The place usually crowded especially during diner time (7 - 9 pm), but the... More

I always visit the traditional seafood resto (or warung). Variation of fishes, shrimps, crab - grilled or fried, with traditional light spice. the price ids affordable. Clean but can be improved.

We had dinner in Lae Lae and the food was great. When we entered the restaurant we realised that it was very popular with the locals in Makassar. No tourist menu so it would be handy if you know some elemental bahasa words. The waiter was serious but helpful. We ordered Kang Kung (fried green vegetables similar to Morning Glory... More

Very tasty fish in this rather run down local establishment. Dont be put off be the decor. You choose the fish you want and not much English spoken so you need to just point, they were quite helpful. Anyway, very tasty and seemed very good value.

This big fishrestaurant, or rather fish-hall was a great experience. 99% locals in the restaurant, big choice of fish, cheap prices. You need some help from other guests to find out how it works here but ít's definitely a good and special place to eat.

Definitely visit here if you want authentic local food that is fresh. The staff aren't all that friendly, but the food is!
