Abe's AKA Lena's is a great place for fresh home made green chile stew, tacos and burritos. Fast and friendly service but NOT fast food.

We stopped here for a quick lunch and enjoyed their nachos and combination plate. The lady behind the counter was nice and helpful, and the food was particularly fresh and perfectly seasoned. Fun seeing where the locals hang out and eat lunch - we can see why!
Great place to have an green chile burger. An original in an old Spanish setting in an great small community. The bar is a step back in time with a diverse mix of visitors. Yery interesting.
Abe's home-made tamales are not to be missed, but this local place also features tacos and quesedillas with that Northern New Mexico flair. A local hang-out.
Abe's is reliably good fare priced reasonably for the area. The seating is unpretentious. If you are pretentious, you will hate it (and most of Northern New Mexico, except Santa Fe, which is painfully pretentious.) Anyhow, the tiny shop/restaurant is connected to a bar. This is the only bar I've ever been into where the space BEHIND the bar is...

Delicious but greasy northern New Mexican food that is pretty inexpensive. Expect to pay more if you're using a credit or debit card because they charge extra for that.
We have been to Abe's Cantina y Cocina every time we go to visit Taos. Beside's everyone there being beautiful plus getting to meet "Uncle Abe", a true gem, the food is excellent especially the deep fried chicken tortilla and the place is gorgeous.
If you want to see, feel and breath what Taos is truely about....GO TO ABE'S!! You won't...

I've been here a few times over the years. It is a building with two sides, one is a bar the other is a little store with a food counter at the back. You order at the counter and they'll call your name when your order is ready to be picked up at the counter. Food is served in and...

The food is mediocre at best, but don't go for the food, go for there if you just want to commiserate with the staff and cooks who hate their jobs and want to make sure you know about it. Drop in if you're feeling too happy about life or just want to see a couple of miserable people who have...

This was probably one of my most memorable meals during my weeklong vacation to NM. We wandered into Abes after a trip to Taos Ski Valley. My travel companion overheard someone raving about the tamales in our hotel. There is a bar on one side and a combination grocery store/restaurant on the other. i think that the restaurant closes at...
