Simple eating place with benches to sit on - mostly, and some plastic chairs. I always come here for laksa as I like the flavour. The price is pretty competitive in town. You can get a bowl for RM4 or their special at RM5. The only difference between the normal and special bowl is the size of the prawn -... More

Everything here is good. Egg on toast, 3 layered iced tea, Sarawak Laksa, Kolok Mee. Most of all, I liked the multi cultural mix of customers here, you can see all races sitting together for a meal. Nice!

Sarawak laksa is one of the spotlights of Kuching. The coffeeshop is located in the town, heavily visited by local people especially during the weekend mornings. The price is cheap, costing around rm 4-6. and you can fill your stomach fully. Not to forget to try the local foods in this coffee shop too, as they are equally delicious as... More

One of the must go local coffee shop or called 'kopitiam'. You may try mee kolok, laksa here. Try their teh C (drinks) too. For breakfast, you may try their special make breads. The cafe food will sold out after 12noon. So please visit there during 630am till 11am in order not to miss out the nice food.

A taste of sarawak is the authentic laksa taste found here at Choon Choon Cafe.Laksa lovers swarm over this stall for the laksa.Come early for the crowd make sure the supply ends usually by 10a.m.!The sambal belachan that goes with the laksa enhances its taste. For tourists in Kuching make a beeline here.

I came here with my mother so she could try traditional Sarawak laksa. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that they make a vegetarian laksa too! The soup was flavoursome, spicy and delicious, as well as being very cheap. Highly recommended. Just a tip - don't expect to come here for lunch as we tried to go back for more... More

Hi, I guess its about time someone pointed out the actual name of the cafe. Its CHONG CHOON CAFE as written on its signboard. Previous review did mention about the Laksa, Mee Jawa , Ko Lo Mee, however, I think this cafe serves the best thick toast and 3 layer tea ever!, Singapore or West Malaysia. There were close to... Chong Choon is famous for their laksa, but really, they have excellent Teh C Special (local milk tea made with natural palm sugar and looks lovely when it comes in the 3 different layers of colour - tea, milk and the brown palm sugar). The soft boiled eggs and toast go really well with the Teh C Special, there's decent... More

The Laksa,Kolo-mee,Mee- Jawa,Kuih,Breads, etc are tasty. Teh-C is my favourite! Need to come earlier or sacrifice a little to wait for your seats but it's worth the waiting.......What i loved most is the setting of the cafe-square & spacious. Some tables & chairs are unique. Feel comfortable sitting. I also love to eat there because i'm able to meet relatives &... More

I make sure I visit at least once everytime I come back to Kuching especially after church service on Sunday morning. Today as usual the crowd is big but everyone gets a seat after some waiting. Despite the large crowd, service is reasonably fast. This review is done live from the coffee table of Chong Choon's.
