I don't get what the glowing reviews are about. The place is expensive and lacks the level of courteous service that is so common in Japan. 1500 yen for generic udon you can get on the street for 400 yen elsewhere. Cannot recommend it to others. Also, very small portions. After spending 3000 yen here, we went down the street to get more food because we were still hungry

Had the Nabeyaki Udon. So delicious. I used to think that I do not like to eat Udon until I tried the udon at Dotonbori Imai.

As mentioned in another review, this is a hidden gem in the midst of hustle and bustle in Dotonbori. Only Japanese signage but worth the search. My wife and I both had udon. Very good and highly recommended.

Right in the middle of all the neon and glitz of Dotonbori is a modest Japanese restaurant serving excellent food. No English signs, but look for the willow outside the door. Noted for its Udon, but worth trying the tempura.
