We sat at the sushi bar in front of two gentlemen (whose names escape me (so sorry), one was from California working there for 1.5 years and the other from Baton Rouge working there for about 6 months) and they were fantastic. We ordered the chefs tasting and had two options: we could get the preset tasting or have our... More

Went to this restaurant because of the tripadvisor reviews and totally loved it. The waiter was absolutely fantastic(Bobby). He took the time to make sure we understood the options and help us build a great meal. The food was fantastic as well. Only downside of this location if you are staying downtown it is a 20 min ride.

This is not your grandmother's sushi. Quite over the top with the menu, though a good place to say you have been. I would go back, sit outside in the quiet (quite the bustle inside) and have the tobacco cream dessert, a melange of textures and favors that defy description.

Amazing food and drink--definitely worth the price. Excellent flavor, lovely presentation, unexpectedly delicious flavor combinations (e.g. kalamata olive gelato with almonds, lemon sauce, and chocolate). Wish I could eat here regularly. One of the clear gastronomic highlights of a cross-country trip.

Uchiko is my favorite restaurant in Austin. It's a go to place not only for special occasions; but also a fun restaurant for last minute Happy Hour - or "Sake Social" as they call it. The prices for dishes on the HH menu are VERY reasonable. It's a good opportunity to try some new things as you really can't go... More

We had a dinner in Uchiko in mid-May (during their 10-year anniversary) to celebrate my graduate degree and my husband's birthday. We were not able to make a reservation, but were advised to just show up and try our luck. To get in, we arrived 15 minutes before they were supposed to open. To our surprise the restaurant was already... More

Happy Hour is fabulous here - held everyday from 5-6:30 This joint can get pricey very quickly, so gage your true hunger level or splurge for a special occasion. Very very busy, if you go for happy hour, you probably need to get there by 5:45 unless it's a Sunday, that's much quieter. Brussel sprouts, P-38 are great...ok, you can't... More

We were a party of six dining on a Wednesday night. The place was packed. It was so noisy that we could not hear our server describing the dishes. The food is artfully designed and presented. Let's be frank, raw fish is raw fish. It is the sauces that make the dish and the combinations of textures accompanying the fish.... More
