Service was quick and not rushed, which sometimes happens when you travel alone. The portions are a good size, and not too big. I had the ravioli (small portion). It was excellent. The restaurant is in a house, which makes it even more charming. Not a huge menu, but nice variety.

Small residential restaurant with a lot to offer. The food has a homey feel - some of which is resourced in the rear garden. The dining is fairly upscale but you're comfortable enough to relax and enjoy an outstanding dinner. The dessert menu is surprisingly large as are the dishes. I will difinitely return to the Eastside Cafe!

Ate there today with a friend who said, "This is 5-star dining at a 2-star price." I couldn't agree more. I had a lovely fresh salad within-house lemon-tarragon dressing. Although I've virtually given up Mexican food for dietary reasons, I knew chicken enchiladas made here would be lighter and fresher than most, not smothered in cheese. I was right. Even... More

I hadn't been back to this cozy restaurant in a couple of years and this visit proved that I had missed a delicious dining experience. The restaurant is in a converted house with a beautiful garden in the back where some of the veggies and herbs used are grown. The waitstaff goes above and beyond what is expected and is... More

My spouse started coming here with business friends almost 20 years ago and we still try to make it here at least once every time we are in Austin. The food is consistently good and the service excellent. We shared a brie appetizer and had catfish and pecan crusted chicken. All were fantastic. They are not pretentious but you feel... More

Went here for my birthday with my family. I had a tortilla soup as a starter, it was very good. As a main entree the rosemary skewered pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes. Really enjoyed this meal. Everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. From a burger to the Greek Chicken salad. Would recommend to anyone and will be back... More

Everyone loves a good restaurant where they know the ambience is relaxing and homey, service is friendly but professional, and the food is fresh, healthy, and extremely well prepared. Add to all that, an extensive and thoughtful wine list and never a rushed, " time to leave now," feeling. So that's Eastside Cafe in Austin, my all time favorite. To... More

Second time to visit this restaurant. Was in Austin last week for a conference and we had dinner here one night. I had the grilled salmon over fresh spinach and we shared the chocolate almond torte. Food was great, and I enjoyed walking through their garden.

We went here for brunch on a Sunday (three people). Lovely staff, quaint decor, wonderful menu. Everything we all had was excellent. Highly recommend.

This restaurant uses what they produce in their garden so eating there in the winter months was not what I had expected. I am sure that eating there in the springtime would produce a better fare. What we had was delicious, but the menu changes regularly. You can walk to this restaurant from the Cherrywood Neighborhood. I found the service... More
