Great value, lots of breakfast choices especially Austin-style, close to the UT campus, casual atmosphere, great service. What's not to like about this Austin original. I frequented KLC and make an effort to go back anytime I'm in ATX.

You may see stickers or shirts that say "Keep Austin Weird". Kerbey Lane does just that with élan. They have an eclectic and creative menu. With items ranging from the best pancakes in town, to Kerbey Queso (guacamole covered in queso), to a Jalepeno Bison Burger. I've never had a meal here I didn't like!
On a trip to Austin, my husband and I ate here twice. Once for dinner which was filling and tasty, and once for fabulous breakfast. Great GF menu with yummy pancakes. The staff was quirky, but polite, and the crowd was fun to watch. It was a bit loud for this middle-aged girl, but a fun, university-vibe that made for...

Food is ok. Used to be fantastic but has fallen down some. Location by UT has over-tattooed waitstaff with plates in their earlobes. If you find this appetizing, fine. But I have to close my eyes. I also find it interesting that they tout the fact that they use a butter substitute for my health rather than to save themselves...

Plenty of seating, busy but fast service. We each ordered something different to try. Gingerbread pancakes, regular pancakes, ham and cheese muffin, black beans, fresh fruit, biscuits and gravy. Everything was wonderful!
Not only is the environment cozy ...its always great food. Love the pancakes of all kinds. Plenty of food, not too expensive and very casual for coffee meetings or a nice family place out...without having to be dressed up.
Voted Best Breakfast in Austin 2005-2009, this is a must-eat place near the UT campus. My recommendations are the Kerbey Queso (white cheese queso dip with guacamole in the middle) for $7.95, and their signature pancakes with blueberry (Short Stack is $4.25). My husband's death row meal includes those blueberry pancakes from Kerbey Lane. As he once described to me,...

I stopped by the Kerbey Lane Cafe after being recommended to it by the hotel manager where I was staying. The migas tacos were tasty, but left a little to be desired. In hindsight, I probably should have tried something more specialized like one of their seasonal pancakes. Still, for the price and for the quality of the food you...

My husband and I went to the one on W. William Cannon for breakfast and the food was lukewarm. I had a fruit cup which was a tiny bowl, with badly chopped orange and apples. They could have gone over to Costco (same shopping center) and bought strawberries, etc. The best part of the meal was my husband's potatoes -...

Their cups (or possibly it's the ice) always taste like chlorine. Indifferent service. Very loud inside. Food is bland and carelessly prepared. Essentially it's a pricier Denny's with worse food.
