Unfortunately, this gem of a place has been forced to close its doors because the selfish landlord wanted triple the rent. Sorry to see you go!
Ordered the spring roll and pad that, food was very good I cleaned both plates completely. The pad thai is a bit lemony, so if you don't like it ask for the lemon on the side, but I didn't mind. The waiters were very kind, service was quick and efficient. The place was not too noisy, you can enjoy your... More
Wonderful corner resturant right at the bottom of the hill in Olde Towne Alexandria, right in the heart of it all. Great wait staff, and fantastic food at a moderate price. Well worth the visit if you are in the area.
We ordered chicken fried rice, tofu pad Thai and calamari. Fried rice and calamari were excellent. Calamari was really fresh. Pad Thai was not really my favorite taste (bit too much fish source) but it was good.
One of the issues with Thai food in Southern Alexandria is consistency. In the past I've found To Be Thai to be excellent with occasional lapses in quality (not sure if it's an issue of cooks or something else). That said, given that I live in the area it's my general go to Thai restaurant.
To Be Thai, offers the most authentic Thai Food & Thai environment in the region. The service is impeccable and the food beckons another visit to try another specialty. We live in the region and enjoy their food as often as we are able. Healthy & fresh food with owners who are a delight! If you love Thai food and... More
My husband and I have eaten here twice - once late on a Friday night and once with our two teens. We had great food each time. The Drunken Noodle was a favorite, as was the Pad Prik King. The pineapple chicken was very fresh but my son said it was too sweet. The Garlic Chicken was very good if... More
I am a huge fan of Thai food and have eaten many different places and this definitely in the top ten. I lived near this restaurant for many years and have eaten there on dozens of occasions and have never left feeling unsatisfied. I highly recommend it!!!
This is Thailand's version of the Soup Nazi. I walked up to the front door where the waiter/bartender was holding the door open to look at something across the parking lot, and he abruptly turned around and let the door close as I was reaching for it (bad start). He then led me to a table and cleared away all... More
My family really enjoys the fresh, delicious Thai food from To Be Thai. The owner and his wife work hard to provide a great meal at a reasonable cost. The Pad Kana chicken and Pad Thai noodle dishes are fantastic. Another convenient option is their "take out" service.
