Retail wine shop with food. You can browse the bottles offered, make a selection, and drink the wine with dinner. Also by the glasses wine selection. Menu is small but interesting. Mediterranean salad is a great starter, feta and black olives of high quality. Fish selection well presented and garnished. Very accommodating to my friend who has many food allergies....

We were so weary of mediocre food offerings and expensive meals not worthy of review (or the price) when we stopped into Grand Cru on a rainy Saturday night. And we were so happy to have done so!
The trio of wine pairings was an echo of a recent experience in southern California, and although the wine selections were not...

Chain restaurants and sports-themed bars have proliferated in Arlington's Ballston neighborhood. But tucked away in a courtyard adjacent to the Westin Hotel, I found this small, comfortable wine bar, restaurant, and shop that could hold its own in Napa or Sonoma in Northern California. Grand Cru's menu pairs quality wines with interesting and, from what I both experienced and observed...

Grand Cru is a wine retail outlet that serves great food. You can order many wines by the glass. If you order a bottle of wine, they let you pick the bottle in the retail space and then the charge a minimal corkage fee. It's a great deal if you want to try some nice wines. They have a pretty...

What a great idea, combine an interesting wine store with excellent food and everything in the world should be right. During the meal (the Tapas are great) I was thinking that this was the best food we encountered on our recent visit to Arlington. UNFORTUNATELY, a really wonderful experience was completely and totally ruined by an ugly hostess who rudely...

I met a friend the other night at Grand Cru and had a great experience. This was my second visit. Grand Cru is very close to the Ballston Metro, so easy to get to. When the weather is nice, they have lovely courtyard seating available.
The wine list includes some interesting choices, and flights are offered for those who'd like...

The other night we visited with another couple for our first visit, and found Grand Cru to be pleasant if not exceptional. The wine flights were by far the best part of the meal (good selection, and reasonably priced). The scallop appetizers were also excellent, though the entrees and desserts were okay, but not great. Service was friendly, if not...

My husband and I stopped in for a glass of wine and an appetizer while he was on a business trip in Arlington. I had the robust wine flight and my husband (since working) just had a glass of wine. The service was excellent. We had 3-4 people taking care of us, but at the same time we were not...

Grand cru is a cozy cafe hidden away in the Ballston area. They have a wonderful happy hour with $3.50 house wines and a limited menu of $5 small plates. They have a nice wine list and interesting flights. The food is comforting bistro fare. I had the Mushroom orzo--it was quite good.
