This locals place was packed on a sunday night. The Picanha and sausage was excellent. The locals seem to love the banana farofa and broccoli rice, but they just seem like strange combinations to the non-Brazilian visitor.

We went because of the wonderful reviews of this typical Brazilian restaurant, we will return because the food was so tasty, and the experience so fun. We took the advice of others and had a good chopp(lagger beer) and barbecue ( churrasco). We started with the sausage(delicious) and caprihanias for the ladies. Found the wait staff very attentive, and the...

Located on a very Brazilian style neighbourhood, this is a great place to go. You will just feel the real Brazil. This is a great place to have a "Caipirinha" and many Brazilian grilled specialities. I suggest "Picanha" that is simply delicious.
A wide variety of dishes, but the picanha is for sure one of the best in Rio de Janeiro. If you go with a group of people take in mind that a picanha is enough for 3 people to eat.
Best meat in rio. Try the "picanha" and the sausage for apetizers. Also have the tipical brazilian beer: very fresh and light !
This is a traditional local hangout. Almost every night you see clusters of people hanging out in this Gávea institution, having their chopp. They are well known for their grilled "picanha", a Brazilian cut of lean beef. The portions are big and should be shared. This is more of a quantity than quality kind of place. There is a large...

This a small busy brasserie in Gávea. As an American visiting in Rio knowing no Portugese at all, I would never have dared to go to such a place. Fortunately, a native friend took a group of us. It was filled with Cariocas having fun. Great food, great drinks. A great experience.
We went there after reading some good reviews, therefore we had high expectations. The food is just average. The picanha and the sausages were good, but the sides not that great. The broccoli rice was a bit greasy, french fries tasted liked they were done with overly used oil. Again - decent but not that great.
We arrived with no reservation on a Saturday night 8.30pm and were seated instantly. With 3 mins if being seated we had a sausage on our plate and a cold beer in our hand! Of course the menu is full Portuguese so we ordered via previous reviews. The steak was cooked beautifully and was so tasty, I don't get the...

I jumped a taxi literally across town and the taxi fare there and back was nearly the restaurant bill...but boy am I glad that I did. I was starting to get a bit disheartened about true Brazilian food (mind you my taste buds are still recovering from Curitiba) when I read this review on tr advisor I thought-i need to...
