Liked: The environment was great. With a good garden where the children can run around. Disliked: Slow service, and the table (wood) full with ants. Beside we are eating our food the ants join together.

We arrived at the English tea house expecting a fine dining experience but found ourselves disappointed. At first we ordered drinks which took ages to come and when they did arrive they told me they didn't have the drink I wanted so I had to wait again!! My partner ordered a diet coke which cost 8.50rm which is ridiculous considering...

Food was very good, service too. Looks very nice and quaint but I would suggest some maintenance as it is looking tired. Would definitely go back
Really loved it here, very different, in beautiful grounds, lovely scenery, food &service were excellent, nice songs being played. p.s I hope that the lovely staff get the service charge that's added to the bill.
The whole style of TH is very impressive and by good british traditions. We took different foods and everybody were very happy. Also the price level is reasonable, maybe slightly out of range were drinks (coctails, wines, biers) but it`s understandable and didn`t affect to the whole atmosphere.
Friendly staff, lovely pseudo English tea style. Ordered a hot Earl Grey and scones to end a tiring afternoon. Great experience if you are aiming for Western style delicacies - albeit the prices are through the roof for Sandakan standard. Beautiful sea view, did not expect there to be a peacock in a little cage!
A must visit if you...

1) Relaxing place 2) Simple food , eg: coffee/tea,cheese cake, apple crumple 3) Price a bit higher 4) Same location with "agnes Keith house" (museum)
Went there twice as this is a major tourist attraction in Sandakan. Visit the tea house after going to the Agnes Keith House which is just a stone throw away on the hill. The tea house offers various English Tea Sets with tea/coffee, scones, cucumber sandwiches, little pastries and other. Food was of okay quality only and the main thing...

Made it up the 100 steps (swear there are more) kicked left and further up to the hill to arrive swimming in sweat. Staff took one look, on went the ceiling fans, out came the icy cold towels and an industrial fan was dragged over and pointed in the right direction.
Tea and scones ordered and enjoyed. All the while...

Wonderful oasis of peace and tranquility and old colonial charm Food and drinks were excellent - slightly expensive - but you are paying for the views and ambience. Croquet available FOC. Photos and memorabilia of history of the house make interesting browsing. We had a wonderful time and would happily recommend it as a must to visit when in Sandaken.
