My daughters and I dinned at the Wintzell Oyster House for the first time and the environment was charming. The restaurant was conveniently located within walking distance from our hotel which was a plus! The food looked and smelled terrific; the aroma that filled the house was fantastic. I've never ordered so much food in all my life!

I ate lunch here one day and thoroughly enjoyed it. My waitress was great and attentive and the food was also great. I sat on the outside patio that overlooked the lake and it was very relaxing and enjoyable. I was by myself and reading a book and the waitress didn't seem to mind at all that I 'camped out'... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Wintzell's. The raw oysters were a great deal during happy hour and didn't disappoint. The buffalo shrimp appetizer was definitely a favorite at our table. For dinner, we had the chargrilled oysters, oyster samplers, and the salmon, all of which were excellent. Even the catfish kid's meal was terrific. The service was good... More

While not the biggest oysters like some on the coast, when you are 300 miles north, there are not that many Oyster Bars around so need to get picky. If you get there during happy hour (before 7), the oysters are half price, which puts the price in line with some in Panama City, FL. Nice atmosphere---location is dock side... More

My wife & I had an early dinner (4:30) while on a quick trip to Guntersville on a rainy Saturday. This was our 3rd visit to Wintzell's in Guntersville. We have visited several of the other locations many times --- never an unsatisfactory experience. Today we both had combination dinners (oysters/shrimp & oysters/scallops) with slaw & broccoli as sides. The... More

I had the oysters and seafood au gratin. The food was mainly average and served very quickly. A bit pricey, but fresh. The bar both inside and out had a nice after work atmosphere. The bartender (Catelyne) was very attentive and sociable. She served up some Yuengling on tap in a frosty mug...perfect! Located on a scenic lake near the... More

We ate here with 3 other couples & the food was served luke warm & some of it was cold. They served food to 2 couples & the other 2 couples had to wait around 10 minutes to get their food & when it was served it was almost cold. The waitress waited on other tables before she finished serving... More

Great seafood up here in north Alabama, so glad we have it here. Fun place and beautiful views. Weather permitting we eat out on the patio. Staff has always been great. Love Happy Hour specials! Bread Pudding is awesome!
