Went to Tuscaloosa for the Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team game at Rhoads Stadium. The next morning on our way back home to Mobile, we had breakfast at Waysider. Tiny place but big hospitality. Service was fast, friendly and down home. It was like eating in Grandma's kitchen. Everything we had was "country good". Good portions and very fair prices.... More

My family eats here at least once every visit to Tuscaloosa for breakfast. It is truly a southern smackdown of breakfast! Everything is great! We have tried practically everything on the menu and it is all great! My favorite though are their grits...with cheese and butter of course! I don't eat like that every day but when I am in... More

A small eatery with maybe fifteen tables. I usually have breakfast. Waitresses are friendly and busy but they keep the coffee coming. If you like homemade biscuits then you will enjoy your breakfast.

Enjoyed the Waysider. A long wait, but the food was out of this world. The only downside is the amount of tables crammed into a small space. The waiter was very friendly even though we were fans of the team playing Alabama that day. :) Would go here again!

First off, the Waysider (like many places in T-Town) has changed over time. Those halcyon meals I enjoyed as a youngster are irreplaceable. The food is still pretty good, especially the biscuits and grits. However, exchanging Bama paraphernalia for flat screen TVs was a poor choice. I understand labeling your menu as "Breakfast of Champions" and squeezing a Nick Saban... More

I can literally make better breakfast on my own that what I ate at Waysider. The hashbrowns were cold, somewhat undercooked, and bland on top of that. The cinnamon toast was, I kid you not, burnt Sunbeam bread with a sprinkle of cinnamon powder. That's not an exaggeration at all. I will say the biscuits were good. I ordered a... More

Located in an old red house near downtown Tuscaloosa, the Waysider packs them in because the food is great (especially the drop biscuits). Its probably most famous for breakfast but lunch is excellent too. Its not fancy just good and the walls are loaded with Crimson Tide memorabilia. Prepare for a long wait on weekend mornings and Alabama home football... More

The Waysider used to be our go-to breakfast spot, especially as there aren't many breakfast places in Tuscaloosa. But the past 2-3 times we've gone there, it's been very crowded, the food hasn't been good, and the place has been kind of dirty. I guess you could just chalk it up to the crowds, but one day after the waitress... More

It's just a landmark-like restaurant that Bama people seem to cherish, but as a big breakfast fan , I have eaten there the last four times in Tuscaloosa and can't really understand why my daughter waited until her senior year in TTown to take me there. Like a previous reviewer, you go there for the food, put up with the... More
