The old Powerhouse Restaurant, a pleasant walk from the city's best hotel (Best Western), offers great food, nicely presented and reasonably priced, in a friendly atmosphere with a great view to boot. We had dinner there in mid-April during ComFish, the annual commercial fisheries event and trade show hosted by the local Chamber of Commerce and other supporters, and found... More

We live in town and have always had bad service at this restaurant. from the server loosing our credit card to having to wait extremely long for our food while our server flirted with other customers and was constantly text messaging. never impressed with cleanliness or food. decided to save our sushi dinners for when we go out of town

We live in Kodiak and are able to enjoy the Powerhouse frequently. My husband and I have done a decent amount of traveling and have tried sushi in many places in the US and around the world. The Powerhouse is easily the best. The service is relatively poor to the quality of food, but the view from the restaurant is... More

This island is a fishing and fish-eating haven. There are few restaurants, but of the ones on the island this is the most consistent and accommodating. The sushi and sashimi are fresh if not overly-creative. The tempura is not greasy. The only thing to avoid is steak, which several in our party said was chewy and overlooked.

4 of us ate dinner with each one eating something very different. Very large variety on the menu. The food was very fresh and the service was good. It was a bit pricey for the portions. The setting is nice but not the best view in town. A few blocks from downtown but worth the walk.

My husband and I come here for the sushi. We love it and haven't gotten around to ordering anything else off the menu.

We have been eating at the Old Powerhouse for years and it is consistently wonderful. Great sushi, great service, kid-friendly... can you really ask for more? Oh, and great location! We love watching the boats go by and my kids enjoy looking for sea lions : )

Enjoyed a wonderful sushi dinner. Nice presentation and combinations. Prices are fair for location. Service was good for our larger group.

Besides Henry's, this is the other best place to eat in Kodiak City. We eat here when ever we come to town. Great food and great location.

I have to come to Kodiak once a quarter for business. Old Powerhouse is about the only place I will eat at anymore while on the island. The food and service is always good. The quality of food is the best on the island. Sushi is much better than average and their meats are always cooked to perfection. I have... More
