Went here twice on my trip. Both times the food was fantastic - large tasty salads with fresh ingredients, great coffee and the best pancakes I've ever eaten. Perfect lunch spot.

This place is an absolute charmer with great food and friendly staff. Plywood tables with upside-down crates & cushions for seats. There's not enough places in Cape Town making new and interesting food. Birds is brilliant. The restoration of the building is subtle and the aesthetic is great. The food is fantastic. They've clearly put a lot of time into thinking about what they want to create and have delivered the simple details really well.

We had a very yummy lunch at Birds. Funky cool setting eating on milk crates with cushions. Def recommend eating at this place. We had chicken BLT and goat cheese with beets. Totally worth a visit. Staff very friendly too
