The food prety good but the dish small and quiet expensive... The stuff are very nice and thay give good service! Dont go there if you are hungry...
Very good food at reasonable prices in an intimate restaurant. Make sure to make a reservation, because the place fills up. We had 3 courses and weren't disappointed with any of them. Good steak and fish. Not the best wine prices, but decent wine selection. I would happily return.
What a wonderful little restaurant in the heart of Knysna. The quality of the food was superb had a range of dishes from local to international. The wines list was very good value and the service was absolutely first class. I would not hesitate to go back on our next trip to SA.
Ellen does a wonderful job in making everything sound great. Actually the menu is quite limited and the quality only average and generally overpriced - as are the wines. There are much better restaurants in Knysna , in better locations , that will cost you much less.
Don't let the location put you off - the trucks on the N2 trundle by at regular intervals! The food and wine more than compensates. This is a class act, the food excellent and the friendly service makes you feel at home.
Every time we go to dinner here it's always fabulous! The staff are very attentive and Ellen is lovely and very knowledgable about the menu that her son Victor cooks fresh every night. Their Steak's are to die for so know wonder they have 'The Best Steak in Knysna' award. Order the Babootie Spring rolls and you won't be disappointed... More

We were really pleased to get a booking at this restaurant , we had visited the anchorage the previous evening and really enjoyed it , so we had high expectations. The starters tomato soup and fish soup , bobotie spring rolls were good . The lamb chops were just okay , not pink as we prefer them , stuffed chicken... More
We went to the Olive Tree for dinner and had a really lovely evening. The restaurant was fully booked, the lady-owner was really kind and explained all the dishes which were presented on a black board. We had the house salad as starter, the vinaigrette was great and the composition good with fresh ingredients. Main courses both contained chicken -... More
