The experience is a good one. Food was good but service was slow. Had to wait at least 1/2 hour just to get into the restaurant. Servers were pleasant and food was fine.

This is our favourite steakhouse in Stellenbosch. The food is excellent and atmosphere unsurpassed. Book in advance because this place is always jam packed. Friendly service and great experience always finished off with a Belgium chocolate vodka drink. Take your own wine with because no corkage is charged and their wine list is pricy.
although no corkage on wines are asked i found the menu to expensive not having a feel good expierience when leaving although owner was very friendly and helpful.
We ate at the Hussar Grill while visiting the wine country. The restaurant was crowded, but it was the weekend, and there was a festival going on in town, so it was not surprising.
The restaurant had been recommended by the staff at Alluvia Wine Resort, and they weren't wrong. The steaks were very good, and being able to bring...

You never go wrong when ordering a steak at any Hussar. The Stellenbosch branch no exception. Warm friendly service in comfortable restaurant. Few seats outside in the courtyard. One member of our party had Sole and unfortunately quite dry but then again it is a Steakhouse! The steaks were brilliant.

The Sirloin steak was average.... when paying R125 for a 300g...

We had high expectations for the Hussar Grill, as we'd heard their steaks were spectacular. The restaurant itself is quite nice and has a real "steakhouse" look and feel to it. That said, it was a bit crowded, and in hindsight I wish we'd asked to sit in the lovely courtyard behind the restaurant, as it would have been easier...

From start to finish this is a great experience - quality restaurant, good service, complimentary drink at the beginning, but you can BYO from a local vineyard haul - though all this is secondary to the main event - an excellent steak. I had chateaubriand (half the price I would pay in the UK) and my husband had ostrich and...

Amazing food and good service...what more could you ask for? Booking advisable though as this restaurant always seems packed!
Don't understand the last two reviews - can the place have changed so much in the space of two months? We went in February eager to eat a decent steak, and were so delighted with the food and service( thanks Angelika !) that we returned the following night . This gave us a chance to try the fish which was...
