We visited Nola last month and so glad we included it in our itinerary! Liza is very talented and Francisco, who does the wine pairings did an excellent job with his selections. The food was presented nicely and everything tasted absolutely delicious. We had gumbo, a pork dish (oh so tender) and a blueberry tart for dessert. I am not... More

The cuisine marries New Orleans creole and Cajun with Mexican and Argentinian fare. The young chef offers a set menu (although she is sensitive to special food needs). The setting is a living room and we had young "professional" travelers all foodies. Nice experience. The neighborhood is safe but requires a taxi ride... secret location. The price is fair for... Buenos Aires is a very big city and there are so many dining options! This Puerta Cerrada was unique for its creole fusion dishes and it's "buena onda!" Each dish was paired with a different wine and everything was delicious. The highlight for me was the gumbo, it was perfectly spiced and paired with an amazing wine. The space is... More

Our dinner with Nola was such a treat and definitely one of the highlights of our time in Buenos Aires. Liza and Francisco are a match made in heaven, what a darling couple! Every bite was thoroughly enjoyed by all at our table, every last plate and wine glass that went back to the kitchen was completely clean! We loved... More

It may not be unique to BA, but there are some excellent closed door restaurants here. This is one of the best. Hard to find - yes, but well worth the effort. Be sure you get a good taxi at your hotel and write down the address. It wouldn't hurt to have it pinpointed on a map as well (I... More

The host and hostess were so friendly and accommodating prior to and upon our arrival. The food was some of the best we have every had - clean, fresh and packed with delicious, complex, flavors. We met three other couples from the U.S. there, all were extremely friendly and interesting people, which made for great conversation. They also gave us... More

This was my first experience with the "puerta cerrada" concept in Buenos Aires, and it was a fantastic one. Liza and Francisco were warm and gracious hosts, their home was a beautiful setting, and the food and wine were memorable. Liza's fusion of Creole and Mexican flavors was excellent, particularly the mango gazpacho, and Francisco's wine pairings were perfect partners.... More

Really enjoyed this as my first "closed door restaurant" experience. I found the hosts to be welcoming, polite, gracious and just plain cool. The home is a really interesting balance of industrial chic and cozy. The food was excellent, inventive and basically was a nice change from the milanesa and empanadas I've been scarfing down in buenos aires. The courses... More

BA seems to be introducing diners to the Puerta Cerada phenomenon. Different from Havana's paladars, restaurants in homes, the puerta cerada allows guests to dine in the home of the chef and meet fellow diners. Chef Liza shared her exquisite recipes with her diner, while Franscisco, her husband and sommelier, shared at least 5 different wines from Argentina. We started... More

I went with my boyfriend to this restaurant, which provided an ambiance that was charming, romantic and sociable. Were we blown away by the ambiance and the welcoming attitude of the hosts, who offered us a glass of champagne upon entering and kept our glasses full throughout the dinner without being invasive, Run very professionaly, friendly and effectively. We were... More
