Smashing food, fresh and tasty. Best brown bread to be found! Friendly service with nothing too much trouble. Will be back

Often get our lunch to take out here whilst working. It is always a busy spot and the food is really good. Our favourites would be the club sandwich..3 layers of bread toasted with chicken, bacon and salad. Great if you're really hungry. Also the...goats cheese quiche which comes with a well dressed side salad is my usual choice. The soups are excellent too and come with wheaten bread. Food is consistently of a high standard.More

I’m a regular visitor to this establishment as I work in Carrickmacross. The poached eggs are great and it also does a great breakfast. It is small with limited seating but is also a great place for lunch and a coffee!!!

We arrived early in Carrigmacross for a funeral and went for breakfast. The menu was varied, the staff were friendly and the food was excellent. I would have no problem recommending this restaurant.

Stopped off here as it was half way back from Donegal to Dublin. Small cafe with a great selection of foods. Menu is very well marked up for food allergies of all types. The food was lovely and portion sizes large, staff friendly and facilities...were clean. There is also a playground about 300 metres away where the kids can run around and stretch their legs, ask for directions from the staff, its easy to find.More

The food is fantastic here be it either a sandwich, lunch or a dessert. Décor has a warm homely feel and you wouldn't find over an hour or more passing. If you're here for the coffee then look somewhere else. Cheap coffee beans (I think...I saw Java Republic), milked foamed too hot and poor tasting water (I had a glass of tap water) which I think they use for their coffee. It all goes to poor and bitter coffee then you have to add plenty of sugar to just half sweeten it. Owner should send staff on a small training course like a lot of café are doing. I'd give it 5 stars only for the coffee.More

Was recommended by a friend and I found it very friendly and easy parking outside. Great wholesome food homemade with great taste. A great range of tea's and coffees also. Catering for Gluten free and diary free too! The best thing about this place though...is the wonderful friendly staff. Their welcome and service was second to none. Worth their weight in gold and make the place what it is.More

The clue is in the name, wholesome home style cooking in a snug friendly cafe. The portions are huge, the atmosphere was jolly ( it was Christmas Eve ) and inside it was warm and inviting,Storm Eva was whipping up outside. I would recommend this...as a place to refuel and relax. The staff are all genuinely friendly and helpful, you'll enjoy the buzz, quick service and great food and small bill. Say no more, you won't be disappointed!More
