Dined for my wifes birthday and had the most perfect evening. We requested our favourite table and very pleased to be given it - a good start to the evening. Can recommend the sharing bread with dips / cornish butter and the olives. For our main we had the lamb curry with side order of naan bread and the lemon... More

I have been looking forwards to eating at Rick Steins Cafe since the last time I went a few years ago. My Wife and I ate there last night, it started so well the Chalky's Bark Beer was lovely and our starters of Muscles for my wife and Pad Thai King Prawn noodles for me were both of the highest... We had a late breakfast - 20 mins before they stopped serving breakfast. Great decor and atmosphere. We ordered a simple breakfast - granola & fruit, coffee, OJ and toast. They brought us the coffee and toast first and forgot to bring us the granola - we had to ask again by which time our coffee was cold. The food... More

We had lunch here last week, the restaurant is small with only about 11 tables indoors and a few outside at the back. The room itself is very pleasant as are the staff, who were friendly and efficient. One of us had the set lunch for £22 and the other the á la carte. We firstly ordered some olives and... More

Really enjoyed this place, very good service and an interesting and eclectic menu. The Pad Thai noodles were just great as a starter and we both had the Lamb Curry main course which was really good. We thought it good value as well for the quality, 2 G&Ts, starters, mains & pudding each and a bottle of nice wine was... More

Four of us had lunch here on a day's cycle ride to Padstow, as you would expect the food and service are of the highest quality. The waiter did make a mistake with our order, but immediately apologised and rectified the problem. I had plaice which was really tasty and my friends had Pad Thais noodles, lemon sole and mackeral... More

What stood out for us was the extremely attentive and professional service. Food was good, but the place was uncomfortably loud with lots of familes with children, and a very large party seated nearby.

This is a reasonably priced and informal alternative to the main Rick Stein Seafood Restaurant. All main courses except for the T-bone steak were well under £15! The service was warm and friendly. We had two salt & pepper prawn starters between four of us which were super. My husband had a perfectly judged lamb curry, my brother-in-law had a... More

Our B & B had contracted out our breakfasts to The Cafe. Day one the Cafe opened at 8.0, School started at 0845, food arrived at 0825. All a bit of a rush. Day two had a lie in and had breakfast at 0900. Very good cooked food, the bacon was excellent. Coffee first class and plenty of it. The... More

Having driven all day from Norfolk to Cornwall we were very glad to have booked a table at this café. We both chose the mackerel salad to start which was really tasty and left us wanting more - always a good sign. For main I had the fish goujons and my wife had the Plaice. The goujons were great and... More
