we visited this pub after reading the reviews on Trip advisor, everything good they said was true. Dog friendly, very important, infact almost everyone had a dog. The Sunday lunch was freshly cooked and satisfied our fussy 11 year old, while to scampi filled a hole for our 16 year old, hubby was more than happy with his steak pie,... More

The standard of the food was way above what one often encounters in a 'traditional' pub such as this; very friendly staff; good beer; and a cosy ambience - first rate!

We are staying literally next door to the Red Lion - a delightful self-catering cottage - and, on our first night, decided to try our luck. What a pleasant surprise - shown straight to a table (some were reserved contrary to other posts here) and presented with a menu. I tend to the 'picky' with any menu but this is... More

Really nice food in a good atmosphere in the dining room (if a bit cold). A small room, but we were really well looked after and had a great meal. The only thing that lets it down on a cold night are toilets you need to go outside to get to!

Visited this pub several times now when staying in the village and it is our preferred place to eat and drink. The pub is Dog friendly and the atmosphere is always warm and friendly. Can't wait to get back up there. Andy Elaine & Jack the Dog.

Visited here today with a couple of mates. Before ordering we were told the menu wasn't ready yet which was a little annoying but we waited. Most of us went for the burger but it was a little rare and very very soft. A friend of mine had the steak but felt that maybe he'd paid too much for what... More

Had excellent crab sandwiches and always good meals and good service - recommended. If you're in Alnmouth, worth a visit.

Visited Alnmouth with family for a couple of nights and were delighted to find great places to eat in this small seaside town. Lovely cosy bar with great character (think there is also an additional dining room) with real fire. Dog friendly. Lovely food - nice menu executed well. Would definitely return here for a meal. Very reasonably priced. Also... More

Great location a short walk from the beach at Alnmouth. Always a busy Inn with great food and service as standard. Has a good selection of local real ales. Nice atmosphere in the bar which is very dog friendly
