Visited the Riverbank restaurant a few times now. The food is always good. Nice atmosphere. Just the staff seem a little bereft of smiles.
Have visited this cafe/restaurant for many years and am never disappointed. It is spotlessly clean, service is good and the food is always beautiful. Visited last weekend and ordered toast and a latte, so nice to get the toast served to you in a toast rack and not just on a plate. would definately recommend to anyone. Owner is always... More
The all day breakfast is excellent and very well presented, plenty of toast & butter with a selection of jams. The cheese & onion quiche is the best I have had, lovely desserts on offer but sadly we couldn't manage one. Great service, there were no tables when we arrived at the owner suggested we take a seat just outside... More
We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and the service was quick and efficient. We both had the all day breakfast which was very nice.

Nice little restaurant with excellent service and gorgeous doughnuts and scones. Would recommend if in newton Stewart.
Best ever Breakfast we regularly travel 50 mile round trip just for our breakfast. Aways piping hot and beautifully presented
Visited whilst passing through Newton Stewart. Great little restaurant. Light and airy. Nice decor. We only had time for coffee and scones. Up some stairs which might be a problem for some. But well worth the climb!

They do breakfasts and full dinners here as well - if we'd been staying nearby, would definitely have returned to sample these, too. Only possible downer is that it's upstairs and there's no lift - although the smiling old... More
Went there with friends for a quick lunch, which actually turned into a leisurely and enjoyable interlude. It was busy and space was tight but the food was good and service attentive. We enjoyed good value and well cooked food but it's upstairs so some may find access awkward. Having said that, there were plenty of older customers which shows... More
