Good for informal lunches and snacks. There is an evening menu too. The staff are welcoming and cheerful too.

Ate here tonight after a day out around Northumberland & the Borders. Child friendly. Fantastic service. Friendly staff & a delicious meal. Plates were cleared! Great value for money. Lovely atmosphere. Spotless toilets. You must visit here. Would highly recommend it. If you visit Jedburgh, you have to visit the Carters Rest!!!

Good food, excellent service, specials change daily and the menu has plenty to offer. Ate lunch here 3 days while we visited Jedburgh and enjoyed every meal.

Had a really nice dinner here yesterday, and it's not often we feel like telling the world about it, so surprised to see some unhappy experiences and so recently as well (though in some instances I can see where they were coming from). We ended up here purely by chance, there seeming to nowhere in the entire Scottish region open... More

We took my father out for the day following the sunshine we ended up in sunny Jedburgh. We have visited the area on many occasions as a family with our children when they were younger. My Father was really impressed with how lovely this little place was with the stunning abbey. We found this little place purely by chance and... More

Friendly welcome, clean and smart restaurant. Very good food. My wife's lamb on a base of haggis was a huge portion. I love haggis so was more than happy to help clear the plate! Our waitress was very friendly and helpful throughout - sufficiently so that I felt a larger-than-normal tip was warranted.

First impressions walking through the door were good. Although we were taken to a room up a few steps which didn't seem to be in good a condition as the main dining area (decor wise) The two waitresses didn't seem rude like others have put but seemed lacking in condidence maybe due to inadequate training but were polite. The food... More

We stopped in for lunch late last year, and went for an evening meal this year. Lunch in the front part of the restraunt was fine. The back area (up a few stairs) is not so well maintained, and the evening meal menue is very standard fare, but made with good quality local produce.

We have just had dinner here and were happy enough with the experience. The 2 waitresses were both pleasant and helpful - no surly attitude as described by some other reviewers. My soup was too salty and not particularly tasty. However, my wife's starter and both main courses were good and of ample proportions. We didn't feel the need for... More
