A group of 8 of us were very lucky to get a table at Corso at short notice on a Wedneday evening. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious with portion size just right. The trout I had was boned and cooked to perfection. My only regret? I'm a visitor and can't return for a while.

We have long wanted to visit this restaurant. It was everything we hoped for. Excellent food, service, and attention. After a great cocktail, we settled in for some pate and warm olives. The spinach pasta with spicy sausage was terrific. We decided on the whole bass, perfectly prepared, bought locally, a must. The white beans were excellent as well If... More

Menu was interesting, but no one dish wowed us. We stared with the panzanella salad then moved onto tripe and pancetta stew and a gianciale with mint pasta. There was an overwhelming amount of vinegar on the salad which made it harsh. The tripe was soggy and came across almost "fatty." Gianciale was delicious, but we felt the mint was... More

Went here by chance without a reservation and were lucky to get 2 seats at the bar. Simple menu with Italian inspired dishes. One could taste how fresh the ingredients were. Super! I was particularly impressed by the 'wine by the glass' wine list. Great choice of reds, whites, fizzy and pinks. Somebody really thought about what a diner may... More

It's hard to pick favorites in Berkeley, where there is an abundance of fine places to eat. But Trattoria Corso is a place I return to again and again for the delicious food and warm atmosphere. The whole grilled trout is a wonder -- simple and always delicious, and the side dishes of potatoes and spinach are equally plain and... More

I cannot imagine why it took me so long to try this place, especially since I love Rivoli's, its sister. However, whereas Rivoli's is somewhat romantic and very reliably traditional and excellent Italian dishes, Corso's is, as young people say, "off the hook." Last night we ordered a celery root pudding on dandelion greens-- unbelievable! Every dish was incredibly good... More

Oct 22, 2012 After my last Italian dinner at Berkeley's Luca Restaurant, my expectations were high for my dinner at Trattoria Corso. I did a cursory look in TA and liked what I read. I was warmly greeted by the manager Peter, a courtly Austrian who monitored my evening at his resto. Where we were seated towards the front near... More

Always heard really good things about Corso, so we had high expectations, especially since it is on the SF Chronicle Top 100 and is also owned by Rivoli, another Berkeley gem. We managed to get in (just two of us) on a Saturday night with 10 minute notice, and were seated in front of chefs. Considering our backgrounds, this was... More

Corso Trattioria on Shattuck is a great friendly neighborhood restaurant. I wish there was one exactly like this in my neighborhood in Santa Monica. I sat at the bar for dinner, the bar tender was friendly offered me a taste of a couple of wines until I got one I really liked. He took my order and within a few... More
