First stop whenever I’m back in Berkeley is to hit the Cheese Board bakery. At any time of day, there is usually something fresh from the oven at this worker-owned collective. My perennial favorites (and the things that I miss most whenever I am away) include the asiago bread, provolone olive rolls, sticky buns, anything with fruits and/or nuts, etc,... More

A great place to taste incredible cheeses, with both familiar and unusual offerings to sample. With great knowledge and considerable patience, the counter staff will delight in giving you a complete cheese tasting experience. Come early to avoid the long lines (most may be there for the terrific breads and pizzas). Regardless, the staff do their best to give efficient... More

It's weird to go to Paris and always be comparing the bread to the bagettes at cheeseboard. Nevertheless, they make some great breads, cheese rolls, and lots of other great baked goods. You might try their "wolverines", a rye roll filled with rdied apricots and nuts. It's chewy and not too sweet. Oh, yes, they also haver a huge selection... More

Cheese - with tastes on request, and baked goods (no samples unfortunately). The former come from all over the world; the latter tend to be heavy but enjoyable on those days where the fog just won't go away.

I highly recommend the cookies, scones, and "chocolate thing." It's also a great place to get cheese for a wine and cheese party.

Waited in quite a long line....Only one choice of pizza...hmmm.....It was pretty good pizza, but perhaps some days it's better than others...Also, limited inside seating. Nice jazz band the day I went...

I have three favorites here - The Cheese Rolls, Brioche's, and Pecan Rolls. You need to get here early because of the popularity of the selection, they do run out. If you like specialty cheeses, you can't go wrong. They offer an unbelieveable selection of cheese. They are closed on Sunday's so if you want something for Sunday, go Saturday... More

Unbelievable rye bread and big molasses cookies. There is pizza in the restaurant section but the line is always so long I just bought mine in a box to go. Still good.

There is a semi-permeable membrane separating the Cheeseboard Collective from its sister enterprise the Cheeseboard Pizza place next door. Taking a cue from the ancient Buddhists, I prefer to go against the flow and visit the Collective instead of entering the pizza line because their tomato and kalamata olive foccacia is as good or better than pizza. Among baked goods... More

First time here, very good service, **great** selection of cheeses. I don't live in California, but will be coming back when I'm in town. I also look forward to trying Cheeseboard Pizza after seeing all the freshly baked pizzas being consumed outside on a wonderful sunny Berkeley day.
