Don't expect a fancy restaurant here, but the food is excellent and the service good. It's a tiny restaurant that does a lot of takeaway so you may not find it easy to get a table. Formica table tops, no table cloths! Prices are very reasonable. If you like Thai food this a good place to go in Capitola.

Thai Basil is a small restaurant in Capitola village, serving excellent quality Thai food. We've eaten there several times, and been happy each time. Great peanut sauce and fine curries, with vegetables cooked to perfection. We highly recommend a visit. There are few tables available, but we've rarely had to wait, and occasionally did take-out. It might be worth calling... More

You walk intO a tiny restaraunt and the first thing you notice us an enormous saltwater fishtank. It's absolutely intriguing, and fun to watch while you wait/eat. It includes anemone, coral, a seahorse, clownfish, sea cucumber, etc. Very pretty. The service was prOmpt, and the waitress was nice and attentive. It is a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere, especially after a long... More

This place may not look like much, but the food is to die for, the service is attentive, albeit a little slower, and the value is great. My table had Thai basil (out of this world), green curry (super delicious), and spicy noodles (yum). Would highly recommend.

What a disappointment. On a spice scale of 1 to 5 I opted for a 4. I like Thai food VERY spicy and I had not been here before so I thought I'd play it safe. This was not spicy AT ALL. My nose didn't even run :-( The shrimp, although there were many of them, were overcooked in the... More

Like what others said, it's a small place that you would miss on the street if not paying enough attention. Anyway, they serve authentic Thai food made by people from a small town in Eastern Thai. It would be better if they could have more hometown delights in their menu, instead they only have regular known choices. But ask for... More

Second time here. Have eaten both times on the patio out front as the pooch came along. Did peek inside and it looks very cute and clean. Also have only had lunch but the menu has a very good variety and the value can't be beat. Oh and did I mention that it is DELICIOUS? The coconut soup that comes... More

I love Thai food and search out the best Thai restaurants whenever I travel. The Thai Basil in Capitola was a delicious dining experience that was affordable & authentic. The service was prompt & the food came out fresh and hot. You will be happy here if you love Thai food.
