I really love K-ZO in Culver City. We like to eat at the bar area and watch tv, there are usually Japanese silent movies on. The bartender is really nice, my husband enjoys talking to him. We always get popcorn shrimp for our boys (ages 10-15). They also like the Teriyaki Chicken and California Rolls. They also like the "Ramune"... More

A gem at the center of downtown Culver City, K-zo is still currently my favorite sushi joint in LA. The reasons? First of all, great food. The sushi is extremely fresh and the toro grade tuna nigiri is amazing. On top of that, they have some exceptional appetizers (try their "octopus carpaccio!") and, if you like tempure, their's is exceptional.... More

K-Zo serves high quality, mostly traditional Japanese sushi. The atmosphere and service are just ok, not great, and the prices are quite high. If someone else is paying, I'd be more than happy to go again. But if I'm paying, I'd go to any number of other places, such as Sushi Sushi or Echigo.

All of the rave reviews for the Spicy Tuna Crispy make me wonder what the big deal is about, and the K-ZO Tako Carpaccio that evening had too many flavors going on and was way too salty. The Ankimo and Hotate Dynamite small plates were both good, but nothing special. On the other hand, the unusual offerings of nodoguro and... More

K-Zo serves the best sushi at a value you cannot find elsewhere in the city. He's a great sushi chef with a loyal following; the last couple of times I was there I saw Adrian Brody and Tim Robbins. I've tried other high quality LA sushi joints like Nobu, Nishimura... But I always end up returning to K-Zo. Don't forget... More

K-ZO is our favorite sushi place in LA! We'd been out of the country for quite a while but were greeted this visit as if we were family. We are so happy to find that K-ZO has maintained it's high standards, added new fabulous menu items and is still a great value. Chef Keizo is a Master. My current menu... More

K-ZO is one happy discovery. I like the ambiance--industrial design meets classical japan meets bistro. The seating options provide variety with a sushi bar, table dining, and a sake bar. I appreciate the attentive service and the beautiful food. At this point I've tried a lot but haven't dented the food or sake menus. The sushi is authentic, Tokyo-style and... More

I was excited to see a new Japanese restaurant in Culver City and that it serves sushi as well as small plates including fusion dishes. My wife and I went last night (Friday); I called a few minutes before leaving our house a few miles away and had no problems getting a table in front of the sushi bar. We... More

I have been to K-Zo two times in the past three months and have been impressed each time! The service is genuine and attentive and Chef Ishiba personally waited on myself and family at the sushi bar. We ordered the prix fixe dinners (bamboo and pine tree) and everything was fresh and delicious...the sushi was very good and I have... More
